Here are a few Topeka wings and bigs who might be in line for bigger roles next fall (in alphabetical order):
Ketraleus Aldridge, 6-foot-4, 2023, United Basketball, Highland Park HS:
There should be opportunities with Scots next fall. Aldridge is the kind of athlete that should be ready for the battles. He’s a long wing who can put the ball on the floor and get into the lane and finish. He’s got good ball skills and can really jump.
Malachi Berg, 6-foot-4, 2023, Kansas 94×50 Elite, Topeka West HS:
Berg continues to grow and is now listed as 6-foot-4 by his club team. He’s a long ball handler with a distinct size advantage. He can penetrate and kick to shooters or find his own shots. With his length, he’s very capable of ripping down a rebound and leading the break the other way. Topeka West returns a lot of depth, but will graduate a couple of players similar to Berg in Marque Wilkerson Marque Wilkerson 6'1" | SG Topeka West | 2021 State KS and Tre Alexander Tre Alexander 6'3" | CG Topeka West | 2021 State KS .
Gabriel Davis, 6-foot-6, 2023, Kansas 94×50 Elite, Highland Park HS:
Davis continues to develop as a post presence. He’s a huge center, but his physique and stamina are rapidly improving. He’s the lone post with 94×50 Elite, so he’s getting a lot of exposure and practice this summer. He can catch in the post and make plays around the rim. He’s an intimidating big man who won’t be pushed around.
Mason Gomez, 6-foot-2, 2023, Kansas 94×50 Elite, Topeka West HS:
Gomez is a marksman from deep who is really showing off his abilities this summer. He can do a lot of other things with the ball, and he’s a physically developed wing who can contribute in the lane at the defensive end. Gomez is a good enough athlete to push the ball up the floor and get into the mid-range on his own. He works hard on the glass too.
