The PrepHoops Circuit season continues this weekend in Phoenix, with the Bash in the Desert. The event takes place at Inspire courts Friday, April 30th through Sunday, May 2nd, and will showcase a total of 67 teams ranging from ages 15 to 17U. Several players put together impressive performances today. In this article, we take a look at some of the top performers this Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id="831119" first="Jason" last="Fontenet Jr"] 6’4 SG Arizona Firestorm 2023 (#4PHA 2023) (featured image) - Fotenet is going on my all wiggle team for sure. What’s most impressive is he’ll probably end up as the only none PG on the list. He showed a variety of COD’s including crossovers and spin moves. The Firestorm SG was able to elude both 1st and 2nd defenders before finishing at the rim. He was perhaps the top overall 2023 performer today.

[player_tooltip player_id="973563" first="Jason" last="Ernest"] 6’6 PF The Force 2022 (#132PHA 2022) - I’m a big fan of physical specimens that play with a high motor. Enter Ernest into that mix. He was one of the best players on the floor in perhaps the best game of the day. He manufactured buckets off offensive rebounds and, grabbed most of his boards while battling multiple players, in an emotional contest against Arizona Firestorm. Ernest proved to be one of the standout players and sleepers on the day.

Jordan Clark 6’1 PG Emerald City 2023 (#21PHW 2023) - Clark burst out the gates with a 28 point performance. In his second game of the day, he showed the ability to play a pure PG position. He plays under control and has a knack for beating his defender, putting them on his back, getting paint touches, and making an on-time and on-target pass for his teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id="703827" first="Steven" last="Cervantes Jr"] 6’0 PG Las Vegas Olympians 2021 (#69PHA 2021) - Cervantes was one of my favorite players to watch on Saturday. He never seemed to miss, especially when he was shooting from mid-range. He wasn’t bad from 3 point range either burring several NBA range 3’s. The Glendale CC commit showed why he was one of the top overall PGs at the event.

Bowen Davies 6’7 PF Utah Force 2022 (#29PHU 2022) - Looking for defense, then look no further than Davies. He blocked everything and managed to alter several other shots. He’s a magician with his rim protection ability, Davies isn’t the best R&J athlete, however, he possesses amazing timing and the desire to contest everything. He was the best overall defender I saw on the day.
