Myles Colvin (INB Elite)
Colvin has been one of the more intriguing 2023 wing prospects we have seen early in the spring on the PHC. The Indy Nets small forward has broad shoulders and the look of a big time hoops recruit. He has the game to match it as well. Tough cover when he gets those shoulders turned with his burst on first step getting downhill. Makes regular trips to the charity stripe. Also a sound shooter from three especially when spotting up. Rebounds well from his wing spot.
Sam Walker (INB Elite)
Walker is a big bodied five man at 6’7” that is nimble on his feet. Moves very well for his size with sound post moves while garnering deep post position on the catch. Volume rebounder that is excellent grabbing them in his area.
Parker Friedrichsen (Tulsa Hawks)
Another event, another show by Friedrichsen. The Tulsa Hawks star 2023 played up on 17U and torched opponents like he has all spring. Skilled 6’4” wing scorer that is equally effective scoring from all three levels. He has bounce at the hoop and once he adds more strength should be a plus multi positional defender. Feathery touch on his deep ball is what he hangs his hat on right now the most.
Jakhary Towns (Team Rose)
Speaking of high level shot making that is exactly what Towns showed at Chi-Town Tip Off. The lefty from Michigan was lights out shooting it from deep against Breakaway trading shot for shot with them. He is a plus spot up shooter that has good shot prep and lets it fly as soon as it hits his hands.
Jeremy Fears (Brad Beal Elite)
Fears more than proved why he is considered among the best point guards nationally in the 2023 class. The La Lumiere (IN) product returned home to play in front of friends and family for the first time in a while and did not disappoint. His high basketball IQ and ability to make others around him better is outstanding. One play he spinned twice in the lane before shoveling it off to a teammate for an open layup. His athleticism has also made major strides as he got up for a few dunks and his improved short area burst was evident.
Kaleb Glenn (Brad Beal Elite)
Top 2023 prospect from Kentucky was the best player on the court for BBE 16U. At 6’6” Glenn is a big and powerful wing that plays with a high-motor. He was so physical getting to the rim with strength. Like a running back hitting the hole as he drove to the basket. Made regular trips to the charity stripe and was an excellent rebounder from his wing spot.
Sultan Adewale (Brad Beal Elite)
Liked what we saw from this St. Louis Christian 6’6” power forward. High level rebounder and shot blocker that was relentless on both ends of the floor with his tenacity. Has a nose for the basketball and was always making plays blocking shots and dunking.
Taison Chatman (D1 Minnesota)
Chatman is the top 2023 prospect in the state of Minnesota and was playing up on the 17U level for D1 Minnesota. Slick driver with smooth handle making it look almost too easy at times with runners and mid-range shots. Flashed passing feel getting others involved.
Jalen Cain (D1 Minnesota)
Cain is a shooting guard with plus athleticism that can flat out score the ball. Multi level scorer that has a burst off the bounce and can also shoot it at a high level from beyond the arc as he knocked down quite a few threes. Exciting guard that can slide over and play some on the ball when needed.
Jack Janicki (D1 Minnesota)
Really enjoyed watching this left handed point guard play. He is a big time shot maker that drained three after three all weekend. Did it both pulling up and off the catch with a free and easy shot. Also got in the lane for reverse layups, floaters, and nifty layups. Has some passing flair at the point as well.
