There’s no way to highlight all of the talented players who played in the tournament, but a few prominently stood out.
Kardae Turner (2024), 1 Ten Basketball (15U):
Turner is a guard that can do a little bit of everything for his team. From being the primary ballhandler to racking up numerous steals and deflections on the defensive end, Turner is a player that every coach should want on their team. Turner is a physical guard, standing at six feet tall, and he loves to attack the rim. On Sunday against RSE Basketball (15U), Turner got to the free-throw line 12 times and connected on 10 of his free throw attempts. He scored 22 points and dished out four assists in a win.
Gavin Loper (2023), RSE Basketball (15U):
Loper is a very cerebral floor general and one of the best in the tournament. His performance on Sunday morning against 1 Ten Basketball (15U) may have been his best performance of the weekend as he scored 20 points and went back-and-forth with Turner throughout. Loper has good size for a point guard (5-foot-11) and doesn’t shy away from contact. His court vision shined through against 1 Ten Basketball by assisting on eight baskets.
Lamont Hartfield (2025), Dallas Showtyme (15U):
Hartfield is headed to ninth grade next season but looked every bit a part of a high school basketball player with his versatility. Standing at 6-foot-2, you can tell his natural position is in the post, but knowing that may change in the high school ranks, he flashed his ability to be a primary ballhandler, shooter, and perimeter defender. Against ABC Basketball (15U), Hartfield flashed signs of being a versatile player for years to come. Even in a blowout loss, the moment wasn’t too big, never lost his head, wasn’t visibly frustrated or flustered. He finished Sunday’s game with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists.
