GHSA State Championships: Day 3 Standouts

2021 5-10 PG [player_tooltip player_id="1132749" first="Richard" last="Visitacion"] – Cross Creek

We knew a Creek would win state this year, but the entire country thought it would be Sandy not Cross. [player_tooltip player_id="1132749" first="Richard" last="Visitacion"] was one of many Razorbacks that entered the state championship without fear. He helped slice up the defense with 11 points and 7 assists. He’s a shifty quick playmaker with a good outside shot. Lander is the latest school to reach out.

2021 6-6 F [player_tooltip player_id="938890" first="Corey" last="Trotter"] – Cross Creek – Miles

The double-double machine did just that, finishing his career with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. Trotter knows how to score inside and use his bulk to fend off shot blockers. He stepped outside and nailed 2 threes. He’s one of the most underappreciated posts statewide. Miles College is getting a difference maker.

2021 6-3 SG Devin Pope – Cross Creek

Pope is a good athlete with a quick trigger. He netted a team-high 14 points and went 2-4 from deep. He’s able to create separation on the perimeter and can score at all three levels.

2023 6-5 W Antoine Lorick – Cross Creek

Coach Lawrence turned to the sophomore to defend [player_tooltip player_id="754230" first="Jabari" last="Smith"] and it worked. The length and athleticism of Lorick pushed Smith to the perimeter where he shot 7-25. On offense, Lorick had 12 points and 9 rebounds. He’s a toolsy swingman with upside.

2021 6-10 F [player_tooltip player_id="754230" first="Jabari" last="Smith"] – Sandy Creek – Auburn

Even though it was a nightmare game, the McDonald’s All-American still put up 19 points, 17 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 4 blocks. Expect the loss to only push him harder at the next level.

2021 6-7 F [player_tooltip player_id="806719" first="Ja’Heim" last="Hudson"] – Wheeler – FGCU

The difference maker in back-to-back state title runs, Hudson posted 12 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal while shooting 5-6 from the floor. He’s an elite defender and rebounder. On offense, Hudson has ball skills and can stretch the floor when needed. FGCU is getting a potential All-Conference player who could possibly blow up at the next level.

2023 6-3 PG [player_tooltip player_id="820278" first="Isaiah" last="Collier"] – Wheeler

One of the best guards in the nation in 2023, [player_tooltip player_id="820278" first="Isaiah" last="Collier"] went 6-8 from the field and 3-4 from three as he pumped in 16 points, 3 assists and 3 steals. His outside shot really makes him a dangerous player. Collier can get downhill and make plays for teammates. He’s good on defense with his length.

2022 6-3 PG [player_tooltip player_id="598763" first="Scoot" last="Henderson"] – Kell

Scoot did all he could with 29 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. He had his outside shot working early on with 3 threes. It will be interesting to see what next year holds for the premier prospect.
