We are officially 1 day away from Regional Tournaments starting. Next week at this time we will only have 8 teams left in Class B basketball. I cannot wait! It is going to be a week filled with drama, heartbreak, excitement, euphoria, adrenaline, and happiness. I hope everyone has a safe week and that you have a chance to enjoy watching some great basketball. Who are your favorites to make the State Tournement?
This is our last top-10 Power Rankings for the 2020-2021 season. Next week we will rank the top teams headed to the State Tournament.
Here are the ND Class B Power Rankings, a list of #1 to 10.
1. Four Winds/Minnewaukan – 20-1. The Indians played one game this past week. On Monday they took down New Rockford-Sheyenne by a score of 73-32. On Monday they host Rolette/Wolford at home. If the Indians win, they will play the winner of Dunseith and Harvey/Wells County. 2. Enderlin – 17-3. The Eagles had a full week of practice instead of a game because they are in Super Region-1 with no Districts. Enderlin will take on Sargent County on Monday at the SHAC in Fargo. If the Eagles win, they will play the winner of Northern Cass and Oak Grove. The Eagle’s top players are Joe Hurlburt Joe Hurlburt 6'10" | PF Enderlin | 2022 State #147 Nation MN , Gus Hurlburt Gus Hurlburt 6'9" | PF Enderlin | 2022 State ND , Carson Bartholomay Carson Bartholomay 6'6" | PF Enderlin | 2023 State ND , Alijah Dixson Alijah Dixson 5'11" | PG Enderlin | 2022 State ND , and Dawson Lemna.
3. Beulah – 17-4. The Miners may have played games this week and if they did, they were against fellow Miners. Beulah had a first-round bye and the week off. On Monday, the Miners will play New England at Dickinson Trinity. If Beulah wins this game, they will the winner of Hazen vs. Heart River. 3. Grafton/St. Thomas – 19-2. The Spoilers are the #3 seed in Super Region-2, which gave them a first-round bye. They play Hatton/Northwood tomorrow at the Betty in Grand Forks. If the Spoilers win this game, they will play the winner of Hillsboro/Central Valley vs. May-Port CG. 5. Dickinson Trinity – 18-3. The Titans play in Super Region-7. They are the #2 seed, so they had a first-round bye. The rest of the tournament is played at Dickinson Trinity, which should give them an advantage while playing at home. The Titans play Hettinger/Scranton on Monday. If they win this game, they will play the winner of Bowman County vs. Glen Ullin/Hebron. 6. Powers Lake – 19-2. The Ranchers played one game this week and they won District 16. They beat Ray on Monday by a score of 65-50. Powers Lake will meet up with Williston Trinity Christian tomorrow at Williston State. If they win this game, they will play the winner of Lewis and Clark – North Shore vs. Bowbells/Burke Central. Noah Fredrickson Noah Fredrickson 6'0" | SG Powers Lake | 2021 State ND and Tyson Enget Tyson Enget 5'11" | PG Powers Lake-Burke Central | 2023 State ND are the top players for the Ranchers.
7. Linton/HMB – 18-3. The Lions played one game this week and they won District 6. They took down Kidder County 55-41. Linton/HMB will play a tough Ellendale team tomorrow at the Jamestown Civic Center. If the Lions win this game, they will play the winner of LaMoure-Litchville/Marion vs. Strasburg/Zeeland. Lucas Schumacher Lucas Schumacher 6'2" | SG Linton | 2021 State ND and Carter Renz Carter Renz 6'3" | SF Linton/HMB | 2021 State ND are the best players and leaders for the Lions.
8. North Broder – 16-2. The Eagles play in Super Region-2. They are the #1 seed, so they had a first-round bye. Tomorrow North Border plays Drayton/Valley-Edinburg at the Betty in Grand Forks. If they win this game, they will play the winner of Thompson vs Midway/Minto. Ayden Stainbrook Ayden Stainbrook 6'5" | SF North Border | 2023 State ND , Jaden Lee Jaden Lee 6'2" | SG North Border | 2021 State ND , and TJ Cosley TJ Cosley 6'0" | PG North Border | 2023 State ND are the top players for the Eagles.
9. Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier – 19-2. The Rebels had one game this week and they beat Griggs-Midkota by a score of 66-50. Tomorrow they meet up with Kidder County at the Jamestown Civic Center. If they win this game, they will play the winner of Oakes vs. Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter. The lead players for the Rebels are Alex Huber Alex Huber 6'6" | SF Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier | 2021 State ND , Chayse Entzi, and Adam Nitschke.
10. Langdon/Edmore/Munich – 18-3. The Cardinals played on Monday and they won District 8. They took down a talented Dunseith team by a score of 70-64. Tomorrow they play at home vs Benson County. If they win this game, they will play the winner of New Rockford-Sheyenne vs. North Star.
