The Coppell Cowboys cruised to a 64-46 victory over the Allen Eagles on Saturday, the North Crowley Panthers won an overtime thriller vs. the Keller Central Chargers 50-45 on Monday, and the Lake Highlands Wildcats defeated the Arlington Lamar Vikings 61-51 on Tuesday.
Here are five standout wings and forwards from the Bi-District round:
Ryan Agarwal Ryan Agarwal 6'7" | SF Coppell | 2022 State #99 Nation TX | 2022 | 6’7’’ Small Forward | Coppell HS – Agarwal further proved that he is one of the best shooters in the state, knocking down four threes on Saturday. He had success scoring inside when attacking off the dribble as well. Additionally, the Coppell junior hit a baseline mid-range jumper and made some nice-looking drive-and-kick passes that resulted in assists. He ended the game with 20 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
Noah McDavid Noah McDavid 6'5" | SG Lake Highlands | 2021 State TX | 2021 | 6’5’’ Shooting Guard/Small Forward | Lake Highlands HS – McDavid is a versatile scorer with great athleticism. The senior wing plays above the rim in transition but is also capable of finishing with finesse when he gets to the hoop. He is particularly fond of stop-and-pop jumpers from mid-range. His feel for the game is evident too, making timely cuts to the basket and opportunistically forcing turnovers on defense. He accounted for 17 points and five rebounds on Tuesday.
Marques Sales | 2021 | 6’6’’ Power Forward | North Crowley HS – Sales is listed at 6-feet-6-inches, but he plays bigger than that. The 2021 forward is a productive rebounder at both ends who does a good job of elevating and utilizing his strength to box out opponents. On offense, he was solid scoring the ball down low, displaying excellent footwork and soft touch in the paint. Additionally, Sales was a key contributor for the Panthers in overtime, drawing fouls and protecting the rim.
Femi Olaniyan | 2023 | 6’3’’ Shooting Guard/Small Forward | Allen HS – Olaniyan was consistently aggressive on offense vs. Coppell. He had some gorgeous takes to the basket off of dribble penetration. The sophomore wing earned several trips to the foul line too by going right at the defense. I’m excited to see what he can do with an expanded role next season with Ian Motta Ian Motta 6'6" | SF Allen | 2021 State TX and Mason Gibson Mason Gibson 6'1" | SG Allen | 2021 State TX departing for college.
Labroderick Scott Labroderick Scott 6'1" | CG Lamar | 2021 TX | 2021 | 6’2’’ Small Forward | Arlington Lamar HS – Scott is a unique prospect. He possesses a thick frame but is explosive and light on his feet for a player his size. The Lamar forward has tremendous strength which allows him to muscle his way into the paint and finish through contact. He was extremely active as a rebounder at both ends vs. Lake Highlands, while also showing that he is a sneaky good passer with terrific vision. There is a lot to like about his game and style of play.
