Anton Brookshire Anton Brookshire 6'2" | PG Kickapoo | 2021 State #146 Nation MO 6’1″ Kickapoo: The Mizzou recruit scored a team-high 18 points in the Chiefs convincing victory over Nixa in the championship game of the Nixa Invitational Tournament. Anton is a gifted scorer and 3-point shooter, but he also finds the delicate balance of being a potent scorer and the point guard and facilitator on a team full of offensive weapons. That isn’t always easy to do, but he has done an excellent job this season.
KJ Lee KJ Lee 6'6" | SG Fort Zumwalt North | 2021 State MO 6’7″ Fort Zumwalt North: The talented shooting guard scored a total of 45 points in the Panthers’ two overtime victories over Normandy and MICDS to win the Fort Zumwalt North Tournament championship. He was really evolved from a standout perimeter shooter to a complete offensive player. When both games were in the balance, he attacked the basket and got things done instead of settling for jumpers. He can score at three levels and take the ball as the lead playmaker and ball handler with confidence. He recently picked up an offer from Eastern Illinois.
Drew McMillin 6’0″ Republic: Drew scored a game-high 27 points a game in the Tigers’ loss to Helias in the championship game of the Liberator Tournament at Bolivar. He really had it going from 3-point range during the championship game and throughout the tournament. What’s ironic is that his 27 point effort was only one-third of what he was able to do in the first round when he scored a school-record 61 points in a first-round victory over Camdenton. He tied a state record with 16 3-pointers and only missed two shots from long distance in one of the best perimeter shooting exhibitions you will ever see.
Trevon Brazile Trevon Brazile 6'8" | SF Kickapoo | 2021 State #213 Nation MO 6’8″ Kickapoo: The Mizzou recruit scored a team-high 18 points in the Chiefs victory over Nixa in the championship game of the Nixa Invitational Tournament. While he gains a lot of attention with his explosive, rim-rattling dunks, he has really added the defensive element to Kickapoo’s team this year. His rim-protection has been terrific and he is athletic enough to guard multiple positions. His upside is still very substantial.
Andrew Ellinghouse Andrew Ellinghouse 6'4" | SG Dexter | 2021 State MO 6’4″ Dexter: The senior guard scored 14 points in the Bearcats’ victory in the championship game of the Stoddard County Tournament. It was what he did in the fourth quarter is what put him on this list as he willed his team to a victory and a tournament title against a tough Advance team. Dexter trailed 40-28 in the fourth when Ellinghouse went to work. He hit a pair of 3-pointers, scored on some drives and had a key defensive play in the closing moments to lead the comeback. He scored 11 points in the fourth quarter and basically took over the game like a senior should.
Jared Gerdes Jared Gerdes 6'3" | SG Summit Christian | 2021 State MO 6’8″ Summit Christian: The talented post player scored a total of 42 points in the semifinal and championship games of the Richmond Tournament to lead SCA to the championship. He was just too much to handle inside as he used his size and strong fundamentals around the basket to dominate. He has a solid body and good footwork and a nice 3-point stroke whenever he steps away from the paint.
Sekou Gassama Sekou Gassama 6'10" | PF DeSmet | 2021 State #166 Nation MO 6’10″ DeSmet: The athletic post player had a terrific tournament in helping lead the Spartans to the championship of the Circle 7 Ranch Shootout at Parkway West. He had 18 points in the semifinals against Lafayette and 13 points, eight rebounds and five blocks in the championship game against Kirkwood. He’s an excellent rim protector who runs the court very well. During the past month, he has really showcased his offensive capabilities with effective turnaround jumpers and jump hooks inside and a nice mid-range jumper off the catch.
