Continue ReadingNiles Notre Dame 2017 Jeameril Wilson is a small forward that has all the physical tools you could want in a wing prospect. He has a chance to be a plus defender at the next level if he locks in. Size and rangy. Does a nice job getting in passing lanes and making passes tough to convert. Will get a block every now and then. Offensively he is best getting offensive rebound put backs and can hit a mid-range pull up on occasion. The biggest thing with Wilson is he doesn’t have consistent effort/production. D2+ prospect with low-major potential.
Wilson spoke about his season.
“It is going a lot better than expected. We have two or three guys with true varsity experience so we are looking for a lot of the younger guys to step up. Last year I had about one or two roles, but this year coach has told me I have to do it all. Be a threat on defense. Be a threat on rebounds. Also score.”
He ran with Young Legends on the UA circuit this past summer. It helped him a lot he says.
“Definitely playing against that level of competition. I played against some of the best players in the country. The experience was big.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“I am holding four D2 offers right now. I have some low major and Ivy League interest. I probably won’t make my decision until the spring so I will see what I can pick up.”
He spoke about the four D2 offers.
“St. Cloud State, Winona State, Lewis, and West Texas A&M.”
He has visited Winona State unofficially. A few D1’s are showing interest.
“Eastern Illinois has been in a lot of contact. In the summer I was talking to Cornell a lot. Nebraska Omaha has been in touch.”
