Film Room: 2024 Prospects & Below, Pt II

<p>The Film Room series continues to highlight prospects in the state of North Carolina on film. Here’s a look at Part II of the 2024 Prospects &amp; Below.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1076329" first="Zion" last="Collins"] | 6’3 Wing/Guard | 2024 | Hillside</h5> <p>Hillside has quite the potential star on their hands in [player_tooltip player_id="1076329" first="Zion" last="Collins"]. He’s got an advanced skillset for his grade classification given his ability to score on all three levels already. He’s a long and wiry prospect that can create off the bounce and off the catch and does well to find lanes to score. He constantly competes on both ends and isn’t afraid to play a physical game. He’s a prospect colleges will want to track early.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1030010" first="Austin" last="Swartz"] | 6’3 Guard | Cannon School</h5> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1030010" first="Austin" last="Swartz"] is a strong lead guard given his ability to attack the paint and find teammates in space. He’s got good instincts as a scorer and distributor and is even better when he’s getting downhill and finishing in traffic. He’s got very good upside as a combo guard with his size and handles at 6-foot-3.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1104959" first="Darris" last="Simmons"] | 5’9 Point Guard | 2024 | Cape Fear Christian Academy</h5> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1104959" first="Darris" last="Simmons"] is a quick lead guard that makes good decisions passing and scoring the basketball. He can knock down shots on the perimeter, pushes the pace with his passing skills and finishes with toughness in the paint. He’s an unselfish playmaker that puts constant pressure on opponents with the ball in his hands. </p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1105008" first="Jaylen" last="Claggett"] | 6’2 Guard | 2024 | Cannon School</h5> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1105008" first="Jaylen" last="Claggett"] has already generated a ton of buzz in the backcourt this season at Cannon School since transferring from New Jersey. He’s got good instincts attacking the rim and knocking down shots on the perimeter with his length at 6-foot-2. Look for his name to grow some more as the season progresses.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1104960" first="Brandon" last="Anderson"] | 6’0 Guard | 2024 | Wilson Prep</h5> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1104960" first="Brandon" last="Anderson"] is a crafty guard prospect at 6-foot that continues to develop on both ends. He’s a quickstarter off the bounce that can score on all three levels and does well to control the pace with the ball in his hands. Defensively, he uses his length and speed to keep opponents on their toes and force pressure on the ball. </p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1105004" first="Cayden" last="Martin"] | 5’10 Shooting Guard | 2025 | Shining Light Academy</h5> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1105004" first="Cayden" last="Martin"] is an emerging shooting guard prospect with a nice feel for scoring and distributing on all three levels. He uses head fakes and pump-fakes well to read defenders before making decisions around the rim. He competes with his ability to finish at the rim and shoot the basketball. He’s an easy addition to the upcoming 2025 Watch List when it releases at the end of the summer.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1105003" first="Darnearian" last="Gibson"] | 5’7 Point Guard | 2025 | Winston-Salem Christian</h5> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1105003" first="Darnearian" last="Gibson"] is an emerging point guard prospect in the 2025 class that applies pressure on defense and creates on the break. He’s got a nice shooting stroke and a high IQ to make long-distance passes for assists. As he grows over the years, he’ll be a guard to keep an eye on in the 2025 class in the state.</p>
