As we are hopeful for an AIA season to start now in mid-January, we look at some of the top players in every conference.

We look at more PG’s in 6A.

Here are some sleeper PG’s that will impact their team:

[player_tooltip player_id="809703" first="Derick" last="Kaps"] (Highland)

-Kaps may not be a sleeper locally but he is one of the better senior PG’s in 6A. He is an athletic defender who keeps getting better each year shooting. He is very shifty with the ball and will lead the Hawks to the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id="703848" first="Jimari" last="Grayson"] (Mesa)

-A transfer by the way of Apache Junction will be a huge addition for the Jackrabbits. Not as well known as some others, but he is strong with good speed and gets downhill with the best of them. He is a nice change of pace to the shooting [player_tooltip player_id="703827" first="Steven" last="Cervantes Jr"] and those two will be a tough back court in 6A. He also is a tough on-ball defender with his physicality.

[player_tooltip player_id="809721" first="Thomas" last="Hastings"] (Basha)

-A skilled lead guard has made strides each season. He will take on a heavier work load this season and will be asked to score it from the perimeter plus make plays. The sharp shooter should see all his numbers go up and breakout.

[player_tooltip player_id="809723" first="Dwight" last="McKnight"] (Valley Vista)

-Another breakout candidate will be have a big season for the Monsoon. He is a tough defender and gets into the lane and scores it through contact. He will handle the PG duties and the two-way player can lead them deep into the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id="959025" first="William" last="Betteridge"] (Chaparral)

-A scoring lead guard will get his chance to put up points this season. He has deep shooting range and comes with an ultimate fast trigger. He has big confidence and they will need it to make a run far in the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id="809720" first="Adrian" last="Galindo"] (Hamilton)

-An elite soccer player decided to play this season for the Huskies per head coach. That will give them a huge boost on both sides of the floor. His lateral quickness is close to elite and he is very fast with the ball in his hands.

[player_tooltip player_id="827011" first="Jalin" last="Humphrey"] (Chaparral)

-Another very important guard for the Firebirds. He has great open court speed and is quick with the ball. He will defend his man and has a nice pull-up from mid-range.

[player_tooltip player_id="1010009" first="Joey" last="Grady"] (Pinnacle)

-A virtual unknown as he has been playing behind multiple high level PG’s with Nico Mannion, Trent Brown and last year [player_tooltip player_id="927821" first="Luke" last="Grawer"]. He can really shoot it like all of them and handles it well. He plays a cerebral game and will have the keys the next two years.

[player_tooltip player_id="1024907" first="Dominic" last="Garza"] (Shadow Ridge)

-The pure PG will set the tone and spray around dimes to his teammates. He has good quickness to get into the lane and he can also shoot it from the perimeter.
