6’9 Carter Welling Carter Welling 6'10" | PF Corner Canyon | 2021 State UT (Corner Canyon)
If you haven’t seen Carter play, he is a must watch. His growth has been impressive. He is moving very well laterally when defending bigger and smaller players. He doesn’t get bullied around by physical players , he can really hold his own defensively when it comes to playing against players that are more athletic or players that are taller. He does really well when he switches to guards as well. He can really cover ground. He has really master the art or rim running as he not only gets out and beats his defender down the court, he finds angles and pockets. Carter has a high ceiling when it comes to developing his outside game but he is already a threat and he cannot be left open. He is not a 90% on the block type of player but he has a nice back to the basket game. We are excited to see what Division 1 school is able to lure him. Region play will be tough as every night there will be some high quality bigs to play against.
6’8 Lyman Simmons Lyman Simmons 6'10" | PF RSL Academy | 2023 State UT (Snow Canyon)
As a freshman Lyman was scoring off of broken plays and put backs and was still a force in the middle. He has really had some growth this Spring/Summer. Lyman has developed a consistent shot from the top of the key and he is comfortable out at the three-point line as well. He is a threat running down the floor hitting that trail three and in the pick n’ pop. Lyman is also a force in the middle as a rim protector using his extra long wingspan. This year he is more mature and has more tools to his game that will be needed to take not only his game to new heights but his team as well. He is a HM Division 1 prospect.
6’9 Jaxon Kohler Jaxon Kohler 6'9" | PF Southern California Academy | 2022 #49 Nation CA-S (American Fork)
There isn’t anything better than watching a player who has great footwork and an unlimited amount of IQ go to work. That’s what you will get from Kohler who is a fun player to watch. He is clever on both ends and makes those around him much better. He is being courted by many HM Division 1 schools as he is a Top 150 player in the country. He is a player that will be a must watch this season as he breaks in a new team.
6’8 Keba Keita Keba Keita 6'9" | C Wasatch Academy | 2022 State #157 Nation UT (Wasatch Academy)
If you want to see what raw talent looks like Keba is the player to watch. He is athletic, strong and a beast inside. He will jump up and block some unreal shots and he is continuing to develop his game. Last season he played at American Heritage a 2A school that didn’t play against much size. This year he makes the move to a National Power and he will be able to grow his game. He will look different against players his size and strength and we want to be there to watch his progression as a Division 1 prospect.
6’7 Ethan Potter Ethan Potter 6'8" | SF Layton | 2021 State #194 Nation UT (Layton)
Last but not least we have Ethan Potter Ethan Potter 6'8" | SF Layton | 2021 State #194 Nation UT who shocked a lot of people by choosing Utah Valley over a lot of other offers he received. He will have a tall task of leading a team and he has all the skills and freedom to do so. He has really looked good from the short corner and pushing out to the 3-point line. He has an incredible wingspan that allows him to rebound at a high clip. He will be fun to watch as his game has really developed.
