Next, let’s take a look at Team 7 and Team 8.
Team 7:
Pervis Brunson III (2022) – Niles North (IL)
Pervis is a short, quick point guard with plenty of skill in his game. He had great court vision, and he loved to push the ball up the floor whenever possible. He is also very aggressive when taking the ball to the rim, and he has really solid touch inside. He knows how to make plays for both himself and others around him. On the defensive end, he used his quick hands to come up with deflections and steals to make the other point guard uncomfortable. He will be a tough matchup for most schools this winter.
Chandler Jackson Chandler Jackson 6'5" | SF Warren Central | 2022 State IN (2022) – Warren Central (IN)
Chandler is a tall, lanky wing who will be a long term prospect. He was aggressive in taking the ball to the rim, and he did not hesitate to battle the bigger players inside. As a passer, he looked look good finding the open man more than a few times to set them up well. If he continues to grow, he will continue to develop as a prospect down the road.
Grant Ott-Large Grant Ott-Large 6'4" | SF LaPorte | 2022 State IN (2022) – LaPorte (IN)
Grant may not be the biggest player in the gym, but he was very productive around the rim. He knows how to post up and finish inside, and his footwork is continuing to improve. The area of the game in which I saw the biggest improvement had to be his shooting. He knocked down a couple more shots from outside, and his shot rhythm and release just seemed much more repeatable than in the past. If he can continue to improve his shooting to make him a multi-dimensional scorer, his stock will continue to rise.
Team 8:
Ethan McComb (2023) – Center Grove (IN)
Ethan is a slightly built guard who is kind of a combo guard right now but should continue to grow with time. He’s pretty quick with the ball and was able to really take advantage of a lot of his opportunities. He’s great in the lane, but he is also a pretty capable shooter so far. Doesn’t yet have the strength to be high-end as a creator in the lane but does have the skillset that can grow.
Luke McBride Luke McBride 6'1" | PG Norwell | 2023 State IN (2023) – Norwell (IN)
Luke is a solid lead guard who can light it up with his shooting when he gets hot. He had a couple of nice jumpers off the catch and shoot and showed some range from downtown consistently throughout the day. He will need a little more size and strength for the future, but he still plays with enough toughness. With his outstanding shooting ability, he already stands as a player to watch for the future.
Braden Allem (2022) – South Vermillion (IN)
Braden is a solid wing forward with a great frame and some size and strength already. He was an aggressive rebounder and defender, and he was pretty mobile and agile. He’s a high-energy guy that seemed to always be involved in every play, and he was hustling up and down the floor every second he was in the game. He may not have caught the eye of people by the spectacular plays, but he did what needed to be done for his team whenever he was on the court.
Spencer Denton (2022) – East Noble (IN)
Spencer is a long, lanky wing with some length and a cannon from downtown. He was really good off the catch looking to shoot quickly and often. He didn’t show much in driving to the rim, but he didn’t need to with his catch and shoot ability. He has great size already, and he was not afraid to go inside and battle for the boards with the big guys. He will fill out nicely over the next year, and he will be a better prospect in the future.
