The 2021 class is full of talent and this event gave me the opportunity to see some new players that are not currently on the Nebraska 2021 Rankings, but will be on the next update. These are five senior prospects and one Junior that are having breakout summers or have been overlooked during their high school careers.
Airan Lopez Airan Lopez 5'8" | PG Mount Michael Benedictine | 2021 State NE
Lopez is a point guard that controls and facilitate the offense. He drives deep into the lane, collapses the defense, and gets into a powerful position to make plays for others. He makes smart decisions once he draws extra defenders and sneaks the ball through tight gaps for easy baskets. Lopez is undersized but can manage an offense and is great at creating space with hesitations and good footwork.
Justin Sitti Justin Sitti 6'3" | PG Creighton Prep | 2021 State NE
Sitti is an athletic point guard with vision and creativity as a passer. After averaging 7.6 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.3 rebounds as a Junior, Sitti was an oversight that should be somewhere in the top 50 of the 2021 class. He also looks like he has gotten stronger over the summer. On Friday night, Sitti made plays in the open floor, hit an outside catch and shoot three, and hammered home a fast break dunk.
Landon Broer Landon Broer 6'2" | CG Omaha Northwest | 2021 State NE
Broer is a crafty ball handler and finisher that can create for himself and get to the rim with the dribble. He uses quick crossovers and change of speed moves to blow by defenders and get into the lane. Broer makes defenses react to his attacks on the rim and he can finish with floaters in the mid range if shot blockers rotate to help.
Parker Hottovy Parker Hottovy 6'3" | SF Elkhorn Mount Michael | 2021 State NE
Hottovy is a strong and physical forward that can carve out space and score on the interior through contact. He also spaces the floor with nice touch from outside. Hottovy is a little undersized to be a post, but he works hard and finds ways to score and make an impact.
Aidan Graham Aidan Graham 6'3" | PG Papillion-LaVista | 2021 State NE
Graham is a quick 2-guard with a smooth left handed jump shot that he can make off the dribble or spotting up from deep. He also has a solid handle on the ball and some scoring moves around the basket. Graham has been playing well with OSA all summer and recently picked up an offer from Doane University.
Devin Wilson Devin Wilson 6'2" | SG Millard North | 2022 State NE
Wilson is a bouncy athlete from the class of 2022 that can knock down catch and shoot jump shots and score in transition. He plays with great energy, but needs to slow down and take of the ball at times. Wilson has some skill to go along with his athleticism. If he can continue to improve and put a couple things together, he will shoot up the Nebraska 2022 Rankings.
