2028 Guards You Cannot Overlook

At some point, every body feels over looked in some way and the reasoning can consist of many different reasons. They may feel like they deserve more time on the floor, more shot opportunities, more media attention, and much more. I do not have the power to provide them more time or shots, but I can help bring more media attention their way. This article will shine a light on a few hoopers in Nevada who I feel are over looked but deserving of more eyes on them this upcoming season. Jayden is a really talented guard that continues to grow in skill and IQ as he matures with the game. His ability to get to his spots in the midrange have grown a lot and he's a sniper from 3. Now over at Legacy, he will be one of their perennial shooters this year. There is a chance he will also handle point guard duties and be the main playmaker on the floor when his number is called on to do so. He's a high IQ player that understands the when's and where's in basketball and this year he will get more opportunity to prove that. Before his injury that sat him out of last season, Beau was a top 15 talent in this class. With him coming back, after he shakes the rust of (assuming there is any), he will pick up where he left off. He's a sniper with the ability to shoot off the dribble just as accurately as off the catch, and he's a shifty playmaker for his teammates. He can get downhill, and there's a plethora of ways he can put the ball in the basket. Truly an underrated talent in this class but not for long. One of the best snipers in the state, Zehlik has taken his game up a notch by developing a handle over the Summer that will allow him to attack the basket more frequently this season. Mix that in with his athleticism and there is a chance we see him get a couple handfuls of dunks within those attacks. He knows how to utilize his length defensively to contest shots and generate steals. Look out for Zehlik to take everything up another notch as the season progresses. Anthony is an elite scorer and playmaker. One of the best in the state. Just this past weekend in a Fall Warm-Up tournament, I watched him go off for 30 off of jumpers and heavy traffic lane drives. His craftiness with the ball makes him a difficult read in terms of knowing where he's going and what he's going to do on the court. He plays with a high IQ, understanding what to do when doubles blitz him and understanding when to get downhill with the intention of finding shooters versus finding his own opening. A super talented guard in Nevada, Anthony will continue to build his game as one of the best guards in the state. Defensively, Darius is a pest on ball and times jumping passing lanes well to generate steals and easy fast break points. Offensively, he is one of the best in this class when it comes to getting to his spots and knocking down shots in the midrange. His three ball has been steady growing and I expect Darius to take another leap forward this season. Jamario will play a big role for the Patriots as a reliable playmaker this upcoming season. The pass first point guard put a lot on display recently from his ability to get downhill before finding cutters or shooters, as well as his consistent three ball, especially in corners. I expect him to be top 3 in the state in charges taken due to how often he attempts to take them, which is a testament to his eagerness to make winning plays for his team.
