Pocket City Fall League | Magic Team Preview

The Pocket City Fall League returns for its 14th year, continuing its tradition as the premier fall basketball league in Southwest Indiana. Each fall, the league brings together talented players and programs from across the area for quality competition and an early look at teams ahead of the high school season. 63 players across nine teams in the top division of the fall league. Here is the Team Preview for the Magic: One of the top bucket getters in the area, [player_tooltip player_id='2766818' first='Dontae' last='Barnes'] from Evansville Bosse really busted out onto the scene after an excellent spring and summer on the AAU Circuit with WeDifferent 812. Versatile scoring guard that shoots it with deep range, but can also put it on the floor and get to his midrange where he elevates well to get it over defenders. Will have a chance to lead one of the best teams in the area in scoring. 2029 Transfer in from Union County, Tennessee to Wood Memorial, [player_tooltip player_id='3787512' first='Jasper' last='Brown'] is a 6'1” Guard that is a sharpshooter. Deep range with a clean stroke. Does a good job moving without the ball and shoots it well off the catch or off the dribble. Haven't gotten to see him live with him coming from Tennessee, so I'm looking forward to getting a closer look at what should be an impact transfer for Wood Memorial after graduating four starters from a season ago. Dynamic smaller guard that is one of the best microwave scorers in the area. [player_tooltip player_id='2408663' first='Elijah' last='Chinn'] is a hard nosed defender with a stocky build. Quick feet to pressure full court creates havoc on the floor. Really good shooter off the catch and off the dribble. Gets good elevation into his shots and continues to improve on his playmaking off the dribble. Score first guard that will have a big time season for Evansville Bosse. Defensive minded lead guard from Evansville Bosse that will be the head of the snake in the backcourt for the Bulldogs. [player_tooltip player_id='2489643' first='Elijah' last='Eastwood'] is one of the best on ball defenders in the area. He uses his quickness and active hands to his advantage and has the ability to turn defense into offense in a hurry. He's a complete game changer defensively. Offensively he does struggle a bit with his shot, but it continues to improve. He's best in open space and gets in the lane well where he can kick out to open shooters. Possibly the most important piece for Evansville Bosse if they want to achieve their goals on the season. 2029 Wing from Evansville Mater Dei that is a pure shooter with positional size. 6'6” [player_tooltip player_id='2972974' first='Wyatt' last='Frazier'] had a great spring and summer on the Under Armour Circuit. He's best off the catch, but continues to get more comfortable as a movement shooter. He's a matchup problem with his size where he's comfortable taking his defender in the mid post and facing up. Have seen him within the last couple weeks and is putting the ball on the floor more on straight line drives and the athleticism keeps getting better and better with his finishing at the basket. Will be a big time impact player for Evansville Mater Dei this season. High energy mobile big man that impacts the game on both ends of the floor. Vincennes Rivet 2029 Forward [player_tooltip player_id='3787519' first='Phillip' last='Herman'] is as intriguing a young big man prospect as there is in the area. He runs the floor hard, has exceptional hands, and continues to improve with his footwork around the basket. Hrs a good rebounder on both ends of the floor and plays well out of the pick and roll. Should have a big year for an ever improving Vincennes Rivet team. Senior Guard from Evansville Mater Dei that can get his shot from anywhere. [player_tooltip player_id='3787529' first='Drew' last='Minnette'] is a 6'0 combo guard that's comfortable playing on or off the ball. Quick release on his shot where he's best off the catch. Has shown the ability to put the ball on the floor and capable pick and roll handler where he can get to his midrange and rise up. He's a high energy player that can make life difficult on the opposition getting his hands on deflection. Should have an increased role for a talented Evansville Mater Dei team. Versatile Wing/Forward for the defending 1A State Champion Barr-Reeve Vikings that does all the little things on the floor while also having arguably the highest ceiling as a prospect. 6'4” [player_tooltip player_id='2797665' first='Braxton' last='Neidigh'] is a Swiss Army Knife player that can do a little bit of everything impacting the game on both ends. Really good rebounder and finisher around the basket. Has perimeter skills to push in transition and has a high IQ to make good decisions. Perimeter jumper is a bit streaky, but is a capable shooter. Best playing out of the midrange where he can face up and drive or shoot his shot. Defensively he guards all over the floor with high energy. [player_tooltip player_id='3142216' first='Hudson' last='Neidigh'] got very little varsity action as a freshman last season, but has grown to 6'2” and is an absolute beast on the boards. Solid all around forward that I last got to see back in June and like his brother, does all the little things that may not necessarily show up in the stat sheet. High motor defender that's getting better with his lateral movement. On the offensive end he's a garbage basket kind of player, but is comfortable playing out of the post and has shown some intriguing court vision with his back to the basket. Also showed he's an excellent cutter off the ball with good hands.
