The High School Spotlight Series is back and we are excited to feature multiple teams throughout the state once again! The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. For today's spotlight, we take a look at the Northview Knights.

Quick Hitters

Went 21-6 last season.

Lost to Roncalli in Regionals

Head Coach Shawn Nevill starts his 4th year as head coach. They return most of their production, and that includes their leading scorer, [player_tooltip player_id='2797123' first='Quinn' last='Lewis']. The 6'3" junior small forward brings back 14.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game from last season. He broke out last season, really showing off what his physical tools can do on the floor. A very strong player who likes to play through contact, can guard multiple spots, and can stretch the floor.

Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2622247' first='Trayven' last='Buis']

Not only does Northview return its top scorer from last year, but it also returns another double-digit scorer in senior guard Trayvon Buis. The 5'11" guard brings back 12.3 points and 3.1 assists per game from last year. He had a nice showing this past summer as a crafty facilitator, and that is just an example of what he could bring to the Knights this season. He is also a sneaky good shooter off the dribble.

Other Key Roster Members

Jake Raetz

[player_tooltip player_id='3563765' first='Justin' last='Fowler']

[player_tooltip player_id='2879163' first='Levi' last='Carr']

[player_tooltip player_id='2617835' first='Cooper' last='Schimmel']

Gibson Schimmel

[player_tooltip player_id='3243883' first='Peyton' last='McCollum']

[player_tooltip player_id='2908700' first='Carter' last='Goff']
