The High School Spotlight Series is back and we are excited to feature multiple teams throughout the state once again! The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. For today's spotlight, we take a look at the Center Grove Trojans.

Quick Hitters

Went 8-13 last season.

Lost to Southport in Sectionals.

Head Coach Trent Moorehead starts his 1st year as head coach. The guy who will be leading them into this year is 6'4" guard [player_tooltip player_id='2470624' first='Zavier' last='Laney']. Laney is a super athletic wing who can make plays as a finisher around the basket. He brings back 10.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game from last season. He currently has an offer from Indiana Tech.

Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2560369' first='Grayson' last='Alvey']

A player who we felt started to come into his own a bit over the AAU season is sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='2560369' first='Grayson' last='Alvey']. He appeared in 21 games at the varsity level as a sophomore and took that experience and parlayed it into a strong AAU season, which has him poised to be the breakout player for this team. He is super underrated as a playmaker with the ball in his hands and is just a versatile scorer with a high basketball IQ.

Other Key Roster Members

[player_tooltip player_id='3177242' first='Eric' last='Scaringe']

[player_tooltip player_id='2865166' first='Alec' last='Heichelbech']

Rhys Oliver

[player_tooltip player_id='2854923' first='Owen' last='Stark']

[player_tooltip player_id='2956158' first='Owen' last='Yoder']

[player_tooltip player_id='2560370' first='Griffin' last='Quesenberry']

[player_tooltip player_id='2869164' first='Raj' last='Jain']

Colt Siner

Landon Ray
