High School Spotlight: Brebeuf Jesuit Braves

The High School Spotlight Series is back and we are excited to feature multiple teams throughout the state once again! The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. For today's spotlight, we take a look at the Brebeuf Jesuit Braves.

Quick Hitters

Went 18-7 last season.

Lost to Cathedral in Regionals.

Head Coach Allen Glunt starts his 5th year as head coach. Ford was the team's leading scorer a season ago during his breakout year, averaging 12.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. For those who have not had a chance to see Ford play, he is a lightning-quick guard who can flat-out change the pace of a game in an instant. With him only having one offer from Allen University, any school at the smaller college level needs to recruit this guy because he is going to do big things this season.

Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2140343' first='Chase' last='Edmundson']

In all reality, there were multiple players who could have been placed in this spot for the Braves, but a guy that I always keep coming back to for them is senior wing Chase Edmendson. The 6'4" small forward was easily one of my biggest surprise players over the past year, and I am really shocked he has not gotten more attention than what he has so far. He is a super athletic wing who can make plays both on and off the ball and is really effective playing off the bounce. He comes into this season with offers from Wabash and DePauw.

Other Key Roster Members

[player_tooltip player_id='2886224' first='Dylan' last='Logan']

Jacari Washington

[player_tooltip player_id='3657961' first='Courtney' last='Hart']

[player_tooltip player_id='2141016' first='Jayden' last='Washington']

[player_tooltip player_id='2860833' first='Patrick' last='Brady']

Conner Quinn

[player_tooltip player_id='3700232' first='Matt' last='Dolan']

[player_tooltip player_id='2140344' first='Cooper' last='Edmundson']

[player_tooltip player_id='2560621' first='Antonio' last='Harris']

Luca Franken
