Forysth Country Day Preseason Preview

This past month I was able to make several stops to high schools across the state. The Furies of Forsyth Country Day School are coming off their second state championship in three years and were by all words dominate last year going 29-3 and finishing second in arguably the strongest private school conference the Piedmont Triangle Athletic which featured three teams that played in their respective classifications state titles. A bit of a new look group after losing four key seniors all of whom will be playing college basketball next year. They return a strong mix of veterans and talented bunch of newcomers so expect their winning ways to continue.

Star Power

Connor's has arguably been the biggest riser in the senior class this year jumping from relatively unknown prospect nationally to high major player this year with CP3. A do it all forward that attacks strong downhill and an improving jumper that should have a monster senior season.

Veteran Returners

Adams's epitomizes the Forsyth culture of hard nosed, "Dawg" mentality that never take a play off mindset. Not the most physically gifted player but a coaches dream when it comes to his production towards winning. Their primary on-ball defender that sets the tone on that end but also a capable offensive threat as a passer and shooter.

Dalton should take a leap in prodution this year as the other primary frontcourt piece next to Connor's. A do it all forward that thrives in a structured setting, possesses nice touch around the rim and can step out and hit jumpers.

Notable Underclassmen

Butler showed he will be a player that should see an increased role this year. A high IQ guard, with a impactful motor and defensive capability. Can score when needed but also creates for others.

Talented Acquistitons

Thomas should step in right away and be productive. Already possesses the physical traits with a polished skillset. A good athlete that creates shots for himself at all levels and can become a reliable option outside their returners.

Johnson is another strong addition for this group a dynamic offensive threat that can get downhill but also bury jumpers. Makes the right reads but also causes disruption as a defender.

Edward's is another player that will bring value to this Furies team. A capable scoring option that plays within the flow of the offense and creates plays with his effort and nose for the ball. Should be an extremely productive player for them.
