1. Lomira -- Replacing the size and productivity of Jake Broeske (6-10) along with the toughness and big-play ability of Hunter Duley (5-10) will be challenges to overcome for second-year Lomira coach Nick Kohler. At the same time, Kohler welcomes back three starters from a club that won 26 of 28 outings. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2140902' first='Charlie' last='Cole'] (5-10), [player_tooltip player_id='2381930' first='Blake' last='Steger'] (6-3) and [player_tooltip player_id='2381926' first='Keegan' last='Kell'] (6-0) comprise the top class of 2027 trio in the league and all were hugely important to the Lions' 14-0 league mark a year ago. Kell is a returning first-team all-Flyway performer and one of the best three-point shooters in the league. He averaged 10.0 ppg as a junior. Steger (11.1 ppg) and Cole (7.9 rpg) are also proven scorers, but its the grit and toughness of those three players that might be their biggest strength. Other key returning players for the Lions include seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2381934' first='Jackson' last='Bloohm'] (6-2) and [player_tooltip player_id='2826123' first='Cooper' last='King'] (6-3) along with juniors [player_tooltip player_id='2673551' first='Maddox' last='Bodden'] (5-10) and [player_tooltip player_id='3020737' first='Mason' last='Schelvan'] (6-3). Lomira is a connected team that plays both ends of the court for the full 36 minutes.

2. Laconia -- With an experienced and versatile group of players, Laconia could prove to be a very difficult opponent if the pieces fall into place for coach Dylan Wurtz. Avoiding injuries is a must after the graduated Cash Farrell was limited to just a handful of games last season. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2381569' first='Reid' last='Langenfeld'] (6-0), [player_tooltip player_id='2628291' first='Mason' last='Langenfeld'] (6-3) and [player_tooltip player_id='3020613' first='Emrick' last='Van Beek'] (6-3) along with sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2403321' first='Asher' last='Morgan'] (6-1) and juniors [player_tooltip player_id='3020611' first='Tillman' last='Madigan'] (6-2) and [player_tooltip player_id='3020615' first='Drake' last='Stigler'] (6-1) give the Spartans a solid core to build around in 2026-27. [player_tooltip player_id='2381569' first='Reid' last='Langenfeld'] finished second on the team in scoring at (15.0 ppg) while [player_tooltip player_id='2628291' first='Mason' last='Langenfeld'] led Laconia in rebounding (6.8 ppg). Morgan is a talented lead guard for the Spartans while Madigan and Stigler each earned varsity minutes as reserves last winter. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='3136367' first='Izec' last='Grade'] (6-2) could also be in the mix as Laconia attempts to utilize its versatility and high basketball IQ to make a run at the league title.

3. Winnebago Lutheran -- Speed in the backcourt is a huge plus for Winnebago Lutheran as third-year coach Mason DeNoyer welcomes back starters [player_tooltip player_id='2381565' first='Isaac' last='LaMotte'] (5-10) and [player_tooltip player_id='2552682' first='Hudson' last='Henry'] (5-9). What those two might lack in size, they more than make up for with grit, quickness and productivity. LaMotte averaged 14.0 ppg and Henry added 12.1 ppg on a team that finished 16-10. Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='3544369' first='Ty' last='Faris'] (5-10) also returns while the Vikings turn to youngsters such as sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='3829321' first='Cash' last='Jahnke'] (6-0) and [player_tooltip player_id='2957519' first='Camren' last='Butzen'] (6-2) along with freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2389464' first='Dawson' last='Henry'] (5-10) to earn spots in the playing rotation. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='2381621' first='Bryson' last='Vogt'] (6-5), a key player on last year's 18-4 JV1 team, gives WLA some much-needed size.

4. St. Mary's Springs -- Winners of three of the past five league titles, St. Mary's Springs slipped a bit last year, finishing just 5-9 in conference play. The Ledgers lost all-league guard Ben Baker (14.5 ppg) to graduation, but the rest of the team returns for coach Kyle Krueger, who begins his 28th season with a 443-362 career record. The top two returning players for the Ledgers are senior guards/wings [player_tooltip player_id='3022393' first='Joey' last='Coon'] (6-0) and [player_tooltip player_id='3022395' first='Jack' last='Judkins'] (6-1). Coon averaged 15.1 ppg and 4.5 rpg while Judkins added 10.3 ppg and 3.9 rpg. Krueger knows he has two proven scorers in Coon and Judkins, but is looking for others to step up their production. Among the group battling for starting spots alongside Coon and Judkins are juniors [player_tooltip player_id='2853269' first='Will' last='Jahn'] (6-2) and [player_tooltip player_id='3103155' first='Michael' last='Kebble'] (6-3) along with seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3103157' first='Matthew' last='Mueller'] (6-4), [player_tooltip player_id='3103156' first='Brody' last='Stephany'] (6-0) and [player_tooltip player_id='3022398' first='Bentley' last='Kutz'] (6-1). Senior [player_tooltip player_id='2436991' first='Drew' last='Lenz'] (6-1) missed last season with an injury while sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='3829325' first='Drake' last='Heaney'] (5-9) provides some quickness in the backcourt.

5. Omro -- Coach Steven Egan starts his seventh year at Omro looking to take advantage of the Foxes' size in the post as [player_tooltip player_id='2385494' first='Devin' last='Allison'] (6-5), [player_tooltip player_id='3021594' first='Blake' last='Huth'] (6-3) and [player_tooltip player_id='3829328' first='Jacob' last='Hildebrand'] (6-3) all look to make major contributions in 2026-27. Huth is the most experienced of that group after averaging 5.5 ppg and 3.4 rpg as a reserve on last year's 12-14 squad. Guard play will be solid for Omro as seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3021596' first='Ralphie' last='King'] (5-10) and Parker [player_tooltip player_id='2881794' first='Kasuboski' last=''] (5-11) each return to the starting rotation after averaging 7.7 ppg and 5.8 ppg, respectively. Omro will attempt to play fast and use its athleticism to stick with the plethora of good teams in the Flyway Conference.

6. North Fond du Lac -- Looking to avoid the cellar in the Flyway Conference for the ninth straight season, North Fond du Lac has the luxury of returning three starters, all double-figure scorers, from last year's club that went 6-19 under coach Tony Puddy. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='2962520' first='Drew' last='Stettbacher'] (6-2) and juniors [player_tooltip player_id='3021472' first='Mario' last='Romo'] (6-4) and [player_tooltip player_id='2402432' first='Logan' last='Puddy'] (6-1) give the Orioles a strong nucleus. Romo is an intriguing player in the 2028 class due to his length, bounce and skill. He averaged 17.5 ppg and 6.3 rpg as a sophomore. Stettbacher contributed 11.0 ppg and 5.5 rpg while Puddy added 10.0 ppg and 5.5 rpg. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='3733365' first='Sam' last='Heidl'] (6-1) and [player_tooltip player_id='3465911' first='Austin' last='Supple'] (5-7) along with sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='3465912' first='Ben' last='Woods'] (6-2) look to take a step up after earning some minutes off the bench a year ago. Coach Puddy lists offensive punch and team chemistry as the Orioles' top strengths.

7. Mayville -- Coming off a second-place finish in the league standings, Mayville lost four starters to graduation and must find replacements in a hurry in order to remain in the upper half of the Flyway. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='2416202' first='Joe' last='Promersberger'] (6-0) is the one regular back and his experience and leadership will be vital for coach Emmit Hurtienne's squad. Promersberger averaged 8.0 ppg and 4.9 rpg as a junior and looks to get some help from senior [player_tooltip player_id='3020964' first='Kevin' last='Keller'] (6-0) and junior Cooper Raddeman (6-2), both top reserves on last year's 13-10 squad. Others who figure to contend for starting roles include seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3544383' first='Weston' last='Teeters'] (6-0), [player_tooltip player_id='3544387' first='Collen' last='Ehlers'] (6-5) and [player_tooltip player_id='3544385' first='Colton' last='Neumann'] (5-10). Mayville has an athletic group, but will need to overcome lack of varsity experience.

8. Campbellsport -- The Cougars come ready to play and prepared to take away an opponent's strengths, but with just two starters back from an 8-18 squad, coach Ethan Elliott's squad might be in for a difficult season within the Flyway Conference. Certainly, seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3019310' first='Carter' last='Gellings'] (5-8) and [player_tooltip player_id='3019314' first='Trevin' last='Shea'] (6-3) give Campbellsport a talented duo with experience and scoring ability. Gellings averaged 11.0 ppg as a junior while Shea contributed 8.5 ppg and 5.3 rpg. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='3667141' first='Pierce' last='Kaehne'] (5-11) earned big minutes in a reserve role and looks to contend for a starting spot along with sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='3829235' first='Ayden' last='Handel'] (5-9) and [player_tooltip player_id='3829237' first='Wolfgang' last='Stoffel'] (6-2).
