Border league 2026: The Arizona Watchlist V3

Arizona will have plenty of talent on the floor at the Border League, with players from across the state getting a chance to compete against some of the country's top programs. This watchlist highlights the Arizona players I'll be keeping an eye on in Las Vegas, along with the parts of their games that make each one worth watching.

His tight handle allows him to get into the paint and create opportunities for himself and his teammates. He rebounds well and pushes the ball in transition, reading the floor and finding open teammates as the defense retreats. His 3-point shooting adds another scoring option, with the ability to connect on timely shots when his team needs a basket.

The perimeter shooting stands out, pairing effective movement away from the ball with a shot-ready approach. He comes off screens with balance and gets directly into his release, making him a threat from beyond the arc. He also attacks the basket and draws contact, carrying that aggression into transition. His passing reads complement his scoring, recognizing open teammates and creating easy looks when the defense commits to him.

His quick lift off the floor and explosive leaping ability make him a major lob threat in transition. He plays well above the rim and brings a physical approach to finishing, attacking contact rather than avoiding it. That combination of vertical pop and strength allows him to finish over defenders or power through contact at the basket.

Comfortable operating from the high and low post, he uses his size to establish position and generate scoring opportunities inside. He plays effectively with his back to the basket, using his frame to hold his spot and finish over defenders. He can also knock down 3s off the catch and is comfortable attacking the basket off the dribble, giving him the ability to score both inside and from the perimeter.

His ball control and ability to change speeds stand out, allowing him to manipulate defenders and create separation off the dribble. He can get into 3s or turn the corner and attack the basket, keeping defenders from sitting on one option. He stays composed with a live dribble, maintaining his handle until he's ready to deliver the pass. His assertiveness from beyond the arc adds to his value as a perimeter shot creator.
