What Prospects Are Ready To Take A Big Step Forward?

As the fall leagues have started, several prospects showcased significant improvements in their play. In this article, I'll be discussing five prospects who I had the opportunity to evaluate this summer and who I believe will carry their impressive summer momentum into the upcoming season with even higher production from last season.    [player_tooltip player_id='2892738' first='Rok' last='Kau'] is a 6'11 forward out of [player_tooltip player_id='2854586' first='Austin' last=''] Prep Academy who I was able to evaluate at the Texas Future Circuit in multiple games. The length and frame he brings to court are very effective in giving him an advantage in the paint on both ends. Offensively, he keys in on establishing deep post position to be effective as a finisher. He is a legit rim protector defensively as he blocks shots and rebounds well for his size. At his height, he is very mobile with the ability to run the floor, recover defensively, and play above the rim. The rising senior will be looking to make an immediate impact on the prep level this upcoming fall.     Brian Skinner is a 2029 guard out of Fulshear High School that I was able to evaluate during the Texas Future Circuit this past summer. The first thing that stood out to me about his game was his catch-and-shoot ability as a spot-up option along the perimeter. He understood how to maintain space on the floor within the offensive flow. The basketball IQ he possesses was evident, making the right reads by finding teammates to keep the offense moving. Brian has the potential to be a good connective guard rather than a guard that needs to create his own shot to be effective. It will be interesting to see where Brian's development goes.     [player_tooltip player_id='2555719' first='Darius' last='Watson'] is a junior at Cypress Lakes High School that recently received District 16-6A All-District Honorable Mention last season. Throughout the summer, he showcased his skills in the Texas Future Circuit by capitalizing on open driving lanes within the opposing defense. His performance resulted in a score exceeding 10 points. I eagerly anticipate witnessing his continued growth and development as the fall season begins.     [player_tooltip player_id='2556871' first='Kameron' last='Myers'] is a 2028 combo guard that is known for his relentless motor, defensive pressure, and downhill athleticism. He has shown that he can contribute offensively while also making a difference on the boards and in defensive situations. In the 2026 grassroots season, he showcased all of these skills effectively, putting up double-double performances in some big games. At STE, he averaged 1.6 steals a game with a total of 50 of them throughout the season. Ever since his performance at the Texas Future Circuit, I've been closely monitoring his game.     [player_tooltip player_id='3472228' first='Rashard' last='Lewis Jr']. is a 2028 guard who shows flashes as a scorer while also understanding how to impact the game without dominating the ball. He has a developing perimeter shot and can attack closeouts, giving him multiple ways to create offense. His feel and decision-making allow him to play alongside other talented guards. Defensively, his size and activity give him a foundation in rotations. Overall, Lewis Jr. has the tools of a well-rounded backcourt prospect, and his progression as a shooter, creator and defender will determine his next jump. Rashard will be attending Link Academy transferring out of Kinkaid.
