Fall ball is officially underway, and the Rattyfam Classic once again helped tip off the fall New Jersey high school basketball calendar. Now entering its fifth consecutive year at Roselle Catholic in Roselle, NJ, the annual showcase brought together some of the state's top programs and brightest individual talents. Saturday's slate offered an early glimpse at summer transfers adjusting to new surroundings, while also highlighting emerging players preparing to take on larger roles once the regular season gets underway this winter. With that in mind, let's take a look at some of Saturday's breakout performers— some prospects who might have entered the weekend unknown however delivered breakout performances and could be on the cusp of breakout seasons heading into the season.

A twitchy two guard who's wired to score and possesses enough shake and burst to create for himself off the bounce, [player_tooltip player_id='2880164' first='Gerard' last='Gallo']'s aggressive scoring style easily stood out. Gallo was naturally aggressive in looking to score— creating separation and getting to his spots off the dribble for smooth mid range pull ups, highlighting the tight handle he possesses coupled with the creativity to attack matchups in isolation, while providing an added threat as a perimeter spot up shooter. There's definitely room for Gallo to grow as a finisher, particularly as he develops a better understanding of which angles to target off the backboard and becomes more effective finishing in traffic, however his handle and wiggle to create separation off the dribble was still extremely impressive nonetheless.

Probably the biggest breakout performer on the day was none other than Roselle Catholic's new guard [player_tooltip player_id='3759308' first='Michael' last='Okeoma'], a talented scoring guard who possesses a lot of the intangibles of a dynamic scorer. Okeoma possesses natural scoring instincts, creating for himself off the bounce— a scoring performance that featured him stepping into in rhythm looks with balanced footwork from the perimeter, navigating ball screens in PnR action(s) with good pace for strong finishes at the rim mixed with getting to open space for instinctive mid range pull ups.

One of the more standout performers from Saturday afternoon's action particularly with the way he found a crazy rhythm from three point range and shot the lid off the rim, [player_tooltip player_id='3764255' first='Brooklyn' last='Kalafut'] impressed in which the efficiency he shot the three ball with.
