Prep Hoops Indiana: The Expo - Emerging New Names

All of our events at Prep Hoops Indiana generate a lot of attention across the state. However, the growth of The Expo is a major point of pride for our team as we wrap up the summer. This year we doubled the size of the event bringing in nearly 120 prospects in the Classes of 2027 and 2028. Also, more than just the raw numbers, the level of talent was very impressive. We hosted over 40 Top 100 prospects today and had college coaches from the Division II, Division III, and NAIA levels in attendance. This was truly one of the best exposure events of the year that you could attend as a prospect.   As always, we will be unleashing a ton of content over the next week or so coming out of The Expo. We will have evaluations of every player in attendance post on a team-by-team basis. Also, top performers, new names, and more will be highlighted. Here are some of the emerging new names that caught our attention at Prep Hoops Indiana: The Expo. He started off his junior season at Beech Grove High School playing junior varsity, but ended up as a primary varsity contributor averaging 8.8 points per game. The 6'2" senior guard is an explosive athlete as he showed with a couple of impressive dunks on Sunday. There is definitely some offensive talent to work with alongside his natural athletic and physical tools.     Purdue Broad Ripple High School will have a chance to sneak up on some people in Class 1A this season. Bacon led the way as a junior averaging 18.0 points per game and should once again be one of the most talented under-the-radar scorers in the area. The 6'2" guard shot the ball very well on Sunday at Prep Hoops Indiana: The Expo making some tough three-point shots off of the dribble. His length and shot-making ability makes him an intriguing prospect for some schools to get eyes on during his senior season.     One of several impressive big men at Prep Hoops Indiana: The Expo, this 6'6" forward/center from Hauser High School really caught our eye on Sunday. He moves well for a big man as he showed by winning a few rim run races and consistently finishing on the roll. Bechtel can elevate to finish above the rim from the dunker's spot and found success finishing offensive rebound putbacks as well. The under-the-radar big man definitely should be on the radar of Division III programs heading into his senior season.     A long, athletic forward from Huntington North High School, Bolen was one of the new names to us that really stood out at Prep Hoops Indiana: The Expo. The 6'4" junior utilized his athleticism and length finishing in transition and via drives to the basket in the half court. He was able to beat opponents in a straight line, attack closeouts, and elevate to finish up at the rim. Look for Bolen to have a breakout junior season and emerge as a prospect to continue to follow in the Class of 2028.     One of several talented guards from Portage High School that made the trip down to Prep Hoops Indiana: The Expo, Brown found success getting to the paint off of the dribble on Sunday. The 6'1" guard used a quick left-to-right crossover to get into the lane where he consistently passed it to open teammates both around the basket and out on the perimeter. He also had a tough left-handed finish at the end of one of his drives that really caught our attention. Look for Brown to be a key factor as a junior in what will be a loaded Portage backcourt.     There always seems to be a couple of prospects pop up from Lawrence Central High School that we aren't super familiar with prior to getting in the gym to see them. Keys got a jump start on that before we visit Lawrence Central practice on Wednesday by showing out at Prep Hoops Indiana: The Expo. The athletic 6'2" guard had a couple of explosive dunks at the end of his drives that caught the attention of everyone in attendance. He was effective in transition as well. Look for Keys to     It didn't take long for Kralis to catch our attention on Sunday and he continued to produce throughout the entire event. He dominated three-on-three play with his positional strength and physicality that he paired with an impressive skill level as well. Kralis drove it hard to his right hand and consistently finished around the basket. Then, he would step out and make three-point shots and mid-range jumpers. The Warsaw High School junior was just so consistently involved and effective.     This physical forward really caught our attention at Prep Hoops Indiana: The Expo. The 6'4" Soller dominated the boards on both ends of the floor. He finished several offensive rebound putbacks showcasing his interior strength. Soller also knocked down a couple of mid-range jump shots and even stepped out to make a three-point shot while we were watching. Look for him to have a breakout junior season at Triton Central High School. His strength and offensive versatility, along with the rebounding ability, was very impressive.
