Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp | Team 7 Evals

There are many great days across the busy Indiana High School Basketball schedule. However, few compare to our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. On Sunday, September 6th at the Noblesville Boys & Girls Club we hosted nearly 250 of the best underclassmen in the state. Over the next couple of weeks we will be posting individual evaluations of every prospect in attendance, highlighting top performers, introducing new names, and much more. Here are the prospect evaluations for Team 7 from the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp.   ***As you can imagine, with nearly 250 prospects, we are bound to miss someone. If your team's evaluation article gets posted and you were NOT included please connect with Brandon Ramsey on Twitter or via email at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com and he will take care of the mistake.***    [player_tooltip player_id='3530855' first='Ismail' last='Malik'] is a high energy defensive minded guard that played as hard as any player I got the chance to see at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. 5'10” guard out of Indianapolis International was scrappy defensively getting deflections on passes and just causing chaos on that end of the floor. For his size, he showed he had a knack for reading the ball off the rim and rebounding it well from the guard spot.     A physical 2029 Guard out of East Chicago Central, Jamal Backstrom turned heads with his offensive prowess as a multi-level bucket getter. Thrived in the open floor where he could get a full head of steam downhill and did a good job with his body control finishing in different ways around the rim. Unselfish score first guard that read the defense well and looked to make the right play. Intriguing prospect for a really nice ECC class of 2029.     New Albany 2029 Guard [player_tooltip player_id='3654901' first='Malachi' last='Mitchell'] is a prototypical smaller guard that does all the little things he has to do to be successful on the floor at his size. Hard nosed defender that picks up full court wreaking havoc on opposing backcourts. Offensively he was constantly moving and showed promise as a floor spacer with a good looking shot from the perimeter.     Smaller guard out of Hamilton Southeastern that played with no fear on the court. Hard nosed guard that was active on both ends of the floor. Really good offensively getting himself open for looks from the perimeter. [player_tooltip player_id='2988736' first='Cam' last='Bjelopetrovich'] showed a clean repeatable stroke knocking down several shots in front of me at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. Capable of playing on or off the ball, but seemed more comfortable off where he could run off screens and drive it from the wings and create.     Steady, high IQ Guard out of Noblesville, [player_tooltip player_id='3586875' first='Finn' last='Neu'] was really good as a primary playmaker at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. High energy guard that really brought it defensively. He's a scrappy defender that made it tough on his matchups with his pressure. Offensively, he showed an all around game of balancing scoring and playmaking for others. Smooth shooter off the catch. Operates in the pick and roll well reading the defense. Loved that he didn't drive too deep and go into his midrange pull-up.     An intriguing prospect coming from the defending 2A State Champions Parke Heritage, [player_tooltip player_id='2897209' first='Damon' last='Patton'] is a 6'2” Wing/Forward that has a lot to work with while still being a bit of a project. A bit raw offensively, but plays with a great motor and showed he can impact the games in different ways. He's a versatile defender that communicates well. He gets from end to end well and showed he's capable of knocking down catch and shoot 3's.     Smooth left handed shooter out of South Bend Riley that was extremely impressive in my first viewing of him at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. [player_tooltip player_id='3658753' first='Lachlan' last='Hoobin'] is a 6'2” sniper that was active on the offensive end. Did a good job creating seperation off the dribble, as well as getting himself open off screens. Did a good job squaring up on the catch and showed his ability as the lower man to get by his defender and get to his spot on the floor.     Covenant Christian has themselves a good one in the Class of 2029 in the form of 6'2” wing [player_tooltip player_id='3572371' first='Kylan' last='Crittendon']. Long and active defensive minded wing that was able to make plays in the passing lanes and looked really impressive in the open floor. A bit raw offensively, but did see him knock down a catch and shoot three and loved his aggressiveness on the boards on both ends.     A fluid athlete in the loaded Fishers High School Class of 2029 to keep an eye on coming out of an excellent performance at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp was 6'5” Wing/Forward [player_tooltip player_id='2958117' first='Reid' last='Stoddard']. Skilled inside-out prospect that played extremely hard every possession. Loved his ability to play on the perimeter as a catch and shoot guy, as well as a creator for himself as well as for teammates making good decisions off the dribble.
