NW HoopSource HS Fall League Weekend 1 – Eye Catchers (II)

Liberty High School was the place to be for the HoopSource HS Fall League. We watched several games last Saturday, and teams from across the state were in attendance. Here are a few players who caught our eye.

A consistent scorer who brings a well-rounded offensive game to the floor. Castaneda is a good passer and rebounder who plays well in transition and finds ways to contribute in multiple areas. He has a nice-looking shot, converts at the free-throw line, and gives his team a reliable scoring option. One of the more underrated guards at the 6A level this coming season.

Chase is a quick guard and strong ball handler who plays with a competitive edge. Wald attacks the rim, creates opportunities off the dribble, and does a good job finding his teammates. He's a hard worker who plays with consistent effort and brings a team-first mentality to the floor. Wald loves to compete and brings energy on both ends.

A player we first noticed this summer at the Prep Hoops Sophomore ID Camp. Thompson is an effective rim runner who plays well in transition and consistently looks to get out and run. He has a good feel for the game and shows solid ball control, allowing him to play with confidence and make smart decisions with the ball in his hands.

Sincere is a well-balanced scorer and combo guard who looks comfortable with the ball in his hands. Zitani creates offense, plays with confidence, and does a good job converting his opportunities at the free-throw line. He brings versatility to the backcourt and is a player to watch for Liberty heading into the upcoming season.

This was my first time watching the 6'8" player, and I was intrigued by his size and length. Brandon-Sanchez possesses good hands and has a nice touch around the rim, playing with a strong motor. He effectively uses his length as a rim protector on defense and provides a solid presence in the paint. He is definitely a player to keep an eye on at the 3A level this year.
