The Prep Hoops KentuckyExpo featured some intense action with players from across the state coming to Louisville to compete. In this article I'll break down my standouts from team 1.

I was a fan of Parks game as he did a really nice job hitting cutters with passes and setting the table for his offense. An unselfish guard, Parks moved without the basketball with a purpose and was unselfish with the ball in his hands. At showcase events many players are trying to show off what they can do by taking wild shots and Parks played a role and contributed to winning. Parks is the perfect type of teammate to have at a showcase style event.

With two of the tallest players at the showcase with McAnally and [player_tooltip player_id='2141045' first='Ben' last='McKinney'], team 1 caused a lot of problems with somebody holding down the paint the entire time. McAnally mostly roamed around the paint looking to catch dump off passes and finish through contact. McAnally had a couple and-1 finishes and drew fouls on plays he couldn't finish as well. A strong rebounder on both ends, McAnally finished defensive stops while also creating extra possessions for his team. With his size, McAnally took up a lot of space defensively in the paint and deterred smaller guards from slashing to the rim. Impressive performance from McAnally who looks due for a ranking bump after that performance.

One of the smallest players in the gym, that didn't stop Holt from making a big impact on Sunday. Holt was a blur with the ball in his hands as defenses couldn't stay in front of him at the point of attack. Holt got downhill whenever he wanted and when there was no help-side defense, he was scoring at the rim. When rim protectors rotated over to defend him, Holt made the quick pass to an open teammate and he would force the defense to collapse onto him. With some nasty dribble moves to get open, Holy has some real juice with the ball in his hands and was an incredibly fun player to watch on Sunday.

A straight line driver from the shooting guard position, Hobson wasted no time getting to the basket and attacking closeouts. I liked how direct Hobson was with how he got to the rim as if you didn't force him to turn and change directions, he was getting all the way to the basket and usually scoring. Keeping the game simple and executing dribble moves and shots he was confident in, Hobson was efficient and a nice secondary scoring option for his team. Also was impressed with Hobson's ability to come up with loose basketballs for his team and get extra possessions.

The big man is hard to miss when he walks into a gun as McKinney was the tallest prospect at the event. New to Kentucky, McKinney will make a splash in the 2027 rankings near the top when they are updated next to add him as he'll be playing this winter for a Newport squad that's now stacked with talent. McKinney was living above the rim with countless dunks in the paint with some powerful two-handed jams. McKinney also set strong screens and got a lot of offensive rebounds for his team to get extra shots at the rim. I also liked that McKinney was patient with his back to the basket and found open shooters when the defense sent two or sometimes even three defenders at him. One of the most talented players in Kentucky's 2027 class, McKinney has lots of Division I interest already.

A local prospect who made the short trip to compete, McCloud was another guard who was unselfish and got a lot of assists throughout the day. In transition, McCloud wasn't hesitating to give the ball up in 2 on 1 situations so his teammates could get easy layups on the fast break. McCloud also knocked down perimeter shots off the catch as he was a nice floor spacer for his team. I also liked that he played off two feet, staying on balance at the rim. Impressive performance from McCloud who was a complimentary piece to his team's success.
