High School Spotlight: South Ripley Raiders

The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. Leading the charge for them will be the 1-2 punch of senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2140354' first='Drew' last='Volz'] and junior wing [player_tooltip player_id='2539946' first='Eli' last='Gilpin']. Volz will be the head of the snake this year, playing the role of the savvy vet in the backcourt, while Gilpin will likely be the leading scorer for the Raiders with his incredible athletic ability and shot-making. These two make for a tough matchup against any team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2477290' first='Blake' last='Gunter']<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/royce-bridgewaters/"></a></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The third guy for South Ripley this season who will be just as effective as Volz and Gilpin is junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2477290' first='Blake' last='Gunter']. Gunter, a 6'6" hybrid forward, plays with one of the highest motors at his position, is a great rebounder, a versatile defender, and a capable scorer both in the paint and as a right-hand driver.
