High School Spotlight: Delta Eagles

The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. They turned things around and finished just a couple of games short of a state finals appearance. This season, they will look to ride that momentum again with a talented roster led by two guys, [player_tooltip player_id='2540036' first='Jaxson' last='Johnson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2958507' first='Walker' last='Johnson']. [player_tooltip player_id='2540036' first='Jaxson' last='Johnson'] — a transfer from Muncie Central — brings over 16.4 points per game, while [player_tooltip player_id='2958507' first='Walker' last='Johnson'] — one of the best bigs in Indiana's 2029 class — is looking for a breakout season in the post. This is an incredible 1-2 punch from the wing and post.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2797662' first='Ryan' last='Lynch']<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/royce-bridgewaters/"></a></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While both Johnsons on paper look like they are going to be Delta's go-to guys this season, the actual returning leading scorer from a season ago, [player_tooltip player_id='2797662' first='Ryan' last='Lynch'], is also a guy to be high on for the Eagles. Lynch brings back 9.9 points and 3.0 assists per game after putting up those numbers as a sophomore last season. Lynch, who is a smaller point guard at 5'9", is consistently effective playing off a ball screen and hitting several tough jump shots in tight windows.
