Freshman Showcase Team 14 and Team 19 Evaluations

Late Sunday morning and early afternoon Minnesota Prep Hoops invited Minnesota's 2030 incoming freshman to the Freshman Showcase at Hopkins High School. Below are evaluations of players playing for the two respective teams during 5-on-5 competition.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJnHt4N90W0 </div></figure>    [player_tooltip player_id='2844282' first='Graham' last='Fox'] is a six-foot-eight-inch 2030 Edina center who played Team Hudson 2030 last season on the Made Hoops Circuit. Fox's size immediately jumps out as a future college basketball prospect and as a freshman playing against other freshmen he is relatively giant in size. Fox can reach over opponents around the rim for easy putbacks and in the 2nd half of his first contest he started to find a groove. Fox each time I see him play shows bits of improvement and I like how he runs the floor in a straight line. Fox looks like works hard, an important characteristic for a big guy. At the showcase Fox worked inside around the basket consistently, offensively with his back to the basket and his teammates did well to get him opportunities when posted throughout the contest.     Marzell “MJ” Gray is a six-foot 2030 point guard from Eden Prairie where he played freshman basketball as an 8th grader and he has played with [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] 3SSB for a number of years now. Gray exhibits quick twitch ability as a ball handler ready to attack defenders from the perimeter, is steady as a lead ball handler getting up the floor, and can really shoot from beyond the arc when spotted up.     [player_tooltip player_id='2519275' first='Austin' last='Sturges'] is a five-foot-eight-inch 2030 guard from Champlin Park that displayed the ability to shoot from the perimeter, handle the ball well enough as a ball handler, showed court IQ awareness, and craftiness to make shots around the paint area and within 10 feet.     [player_tooltip player_id='2854762' first='Ethan' last='Ebert'] is a six-foot 2030 South St. Paul and [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] forward/wing. Ebert showed grab and go ability, getting a board and handling the ball in the open floor and finishing at the rim.     JT Brown is a 2030 five-foot-eight-inch guard from Eastview that played with the [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] and Sizzle this past spring and summer. Brown looks like a guard that handle ball handling duties and plays in a traditional sense of getting something going and passing the ball.     [player_tooltip player_id='2839019' first='Brady' last='Jacobson'] is a five-foot-ten-inch 2030 Shakopee guard that played for [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] 15U Miller. Jacobson has some ability as a shooter off the dribble, handled the ball well enough on the perimeter, and looked to move the ball well.     Amar'e Williams is a five-foot-eleven-inch 2030 guard from South St. Paul and played AAU with TVP. Williams has ability on the perimeter moving his feet with quickness, and can be aggressive driving to the rim off the dribble. Williams may have potential as a spot-up shooter as he made one 3-pointer spotted up and the shot form flow looked good.     [player_tooltip player_id='3595200' first='Henry' last='Brever'] is a six-foot-four-inch 2030 forward from Albany that played MN Flash/North of Elite in AAU. Brever has good size, and looked like he had solid court awareness defensively rotating and moving.     [player_tooltip player_id='3760655' first='Cameron' last='Daniels'] is a six-foot 2030 player from Hermantown that played AAU with [program_tooltip program_id='2078859' first='Starks' last='Elite']. Daniels showed toughness defensively and quickness guarding a big in the post. Daniels held up well while being backed down and jumped a pass when he wasn't sealed. Daniels looks like a potential secondary ball handler with solid court awareness.
