Arizona Freshman Expo: Intriguing Forwards/Centers

The Arizona Freshman Expo was my first look at some off the top players in the 2030 class heading into the new season. The overall talent from this class is very intriguing and looks to shape up very well in the next couple years. We have amazing prospects from every position and I will highlight the players I viewed and spilt them up into three categories Guards, Wings and forwards/Centers.   Forwards/Centers    Oba will be a top prospect in the 2030 class for years to come with his natural size and feel for the game. Oba has an nice handle for his size and is a mismatch nightmare for opposing defenders. He gets to the middle with ease using his strength by bumping off defenders or using a low pick up. He likes to post up in the midrange and use beautiful spin fadeaway. He can hit the three at a solid slip providing great floor spacing. He displayed a new part of his game and started throwing no look dimes and hitting backdoor cutters. He will have major responsibility in year one with a rebuilding St. Marys.     Cj is a very intriguing prospect with high upside. He is a modern day 4 man that can do it all. He handles the ball like a guard and has have a point forward style of play. He is most dangerous in the open court when attacking with a full head of stream using euro steps and acrobatic finishes to score at the rim. He has the tools to be a great off ball player that can post up or slash to the rim. He is versatile and was a hard matchup for almost everyone at the showcase. Cj is will be one of the top players in his class and will open some eyes this year at Hamilton.     Timothy had one of the better frames at the entire showcase. He has great size and a strong build that allows him to play physical basketball. He displayed his elite rebounding and grabbed almost everything in his area on both ends of the floor. He has a plus handle for his size and can beat defenders off the dribble and finish strong at the rim. He moves very fluid for a young big and shows flashes of legit offensive playmaking abilities. He gives a young rebuilding St.Marys team another young big to look forward too.     Breydon is a great sized forward with a high motor on both ends of the floor. He gets out and runs the floor really well for his size and will finish with easy layups and dunks. He is relentless on the boards and isn't afraid to get physical with other players. He got multiple putbacks and second chance points. He also got multiple blocks on the defensive end and contested almost everything. Breydon has high upside and will be a top player for williams field this year.     Logan is a true big on the west valley with an intriguing skill set. He becomes one of the biggest bodys in the west valley as only a freshman. He is a solid athlete for his size with good mobility and can keep up with a high tempo play style. He finished well by the rim throughout the entire Expo and put himself in good spots to catch and finish. Logan is a natural rebounder and is hard to box out in the paint. He contested every shot in the middle and has decent lateral quickness to keep up on the perimeter during switches. He has the potential to become a big time player for a west valley power house Willow Canyon.     Will was one of the most intriguing prospect at the entire event with his natural size. He has the tools to be a special player and wouldn't surprise me if he becomes a dominate player in this class. He has nice soft touch around the rim and will dunk the ball when given the chance. He has a nice looking shot and isn't afraid to face up and hit a midrange jumper. He hit a couple three's from the top off the catch. He is a natural rim protector and makes it hard to shoot over him with his length.
