<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>August 17th-18th Cedric Cobb Sr and I held the 9th annual&nbsp;<strong>Southwest Basketball Camp</strong>&nbsp;at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>120 players came to gain exposure in front of college coaches and scouts plus compete versus some top end players over the two days.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Each player competed in 5 games for the two days plus 48 competed in an extra All-Star Game. (Top-24 or Top-48 All-Star Game)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here is the 8th Team</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3726144' first='Kobe' last='Anderson']<strong> Ironwood (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A newcomer for the website is a face-up four-man who is somewhat raw but has a ton of natural upside. He is super twitchy and athletic to throw it down easily (he was a part of the slam dunk contest). He has quick hands on defense and runs the floor well. He can shoot it from the perimeter occasionally and rebounds well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2274252' first='Nehemiah' last='Henson'] <strong>Elite Sports Academy</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A quick and shifty point guard with a quicker first step. He sees the court well and is quick defensively on the ball to collect steals as he moves well in space to defend. He will score with pull-up threes, quick drives to the basket and boxes out his man well showing toughness. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3649422' first='Jacob' last='Jensen'] <strong>Gilbert Christian</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring combo guard is a lefty sharp shooter. He can rattle in threes off the catch and has a nice looking stroke with a quicker trigger. He will score with downhill layups, offensive rebound put backs and plays a cerebral brand of ball. He will collect steals and has plus competitiveness. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3592110' first='Nicholas' last='Leon'] <strong>Paradise Valley</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A combo forward who can play either spot up front. He has good fluidity and handles the rock decently to create his own offense. He will grab a ball off the glass and take it coast to coast. He is a plus rebounder and has softer hands to score it inside with reverse layups, hook shots and he could breakout for the Trojans. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2964301' first='Jamir' last='Malone'] <strong>Centennial</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A natural athlete moved back to the state. He was actually at Liberty freshmen year and then moved to Chicago and came back to the valley. He is hyper athletic to throw it down with alley-oop dunks and is super active on defense. He can grab a ball off the glass and take it coast to coast. He is a bigger guard who is a natural downhill type with quickness. He scores it mostly on the break and he has quick hands on defense to plays the passing lanes. The faster the game is, the better he is. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2107225' first='Mike' last='McIntyre'] <strong>Sequoia Prep</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A long post player with a big wingspan. He plays the game with a big motor and will dive on the floor and hustle for the 50/50 ball. He rebounds well in and out of his area and he moves well in space. He will score with layups, dunks and offensive rebound put backs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2949688' first='Zion' last='Sanchez'] <strong>Boulder Creek</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger scoring guard who is very active on the defensive side of the ball. He will pester his opponents and plays and defends multiple positions with good length. He will score with downhill drives and mid-range jumpers off the catch or pull. He is in line for a breakout season for himself. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2767677' first='Caleb' last='Sibley'] <strong>Canyon View</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A highly skilled guard who can score it with threes off the catch and he can get hot quickly. He can get down the lane and score with and-1's in traffic. He will also make plays with up the court passes, drive and kicks and will move the ball like you should. He can play the one or two spot easily. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='3493692' first='Kellan' last='Walz'] <strong>San Tan Charter</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A power forward or post player who is skilled with soft hands. He has a nice touch around the basket and has a true inside post presence. He will score with offensive rebound put backs and he will block shots plus he holds his ground well in the paint with his strength and girth.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
