Sandys Spiel Week 2 Sunday Standouts.

Here are the stars that shined in Week Two of the Sandys Spiel Fall League, as several players continued to make their mark with impressive performances.    Davis had one of the best performances of the day knocking down seven three pointers in route to a 69-58 win over Blessed Trinity. He hit big shot after big shot using his length to rise up over defenders and cash in from deep, he has a pretty stroke from long range and is a threat to space the floor. Davis is a guy who provides shooting for his team and with a dynamic point guard like Lopresti he could be one of the very best spot up guys in the GAPPS class this year. He is definitely a young prospect to keep an eye on.     Aneke exploded for an impressive twenty seven points and seven rebounds in a tough loss to Arnold Mill. The 6'9 big is definitely raw but has a ton of upside with his strength, long frame, and athleticism. He is a solid low post scorer on the offensive end of the floor and also puts a ton of pressure on the offensive glass while creating second chance opportunities at a high rate. On the defensive end his length allows him to be a solid rim protector who can make it hard to score on around the rim. As Aneke continues to polish his game he could be a guy college coaches turn their heads toward as his senior season starts.     LeBarbera has a ton of upside as a floor spacer with a pretty stroke from deep that he connects on at a high clip. When he spots up and gets his feet set he is money and can give opposing defenses a lot of problems guarding the interior when having to stay connected to the combo guard. He notched four three pointers as he put up 18 points in a solid win over Centennial. Lebarbera is going to be a premiere scorer for the next few years at Sequoyah with the high level of guard play they have around him.     Bellamy is a shifty guard that got to the rim and scored in transition well for the Knights throughout a tough loss against Sequoyah and their physical defensive presence. The senior lead guard will be one the Knights look to for leadership this year with the young squad they have this season. Bellamy is definitely a guy who can get the puppies organized and score it around the rim efficiently.     The big had a solid showing in his squads win over a handed Milton squad in one of the most fun games of the whole afternoon. Gonzalez is a tough physical post presence around the rim and uses his strength to score down low. He has nice touch with a high level of awareness for where he is and how to get his shot off. Gonzalez also puts some pressure on the offensive glass and is a high level rebounder for his undersized squad full of a lot of small guards. Good prospect worth watching as the season unfolds.     Free put up a huge twenty point performance in a big win over Blessed Trinity. The shifty combo guard can fill it up by doing a little bit of everything. He is a blur in transition and can get to the cup in a hurry. He also has the ability to create off the bounce in the mid range and space the floor with his pretty stroke from deep. Though he is undersized he definitely plays the game with a winners mentality and effort that is hard to teach. Alongside Lopresti they make up for one of the best scoring backcourts in small school ball.     Lopresti really showed his toughness on Sunday afternoon, after missing most of the first half where he took an elbow to the face and suffered a black eye. He bounced right back in the second half hitting some huge 3s down the stretch and doing what he does best finding teammates for easy buckets. One of the best true point guards in the whole state and a guy that always increases his teams level of play.     Joe is a guard relentlessly attacks the rim and can score at will in traffic. He uses his strength and athleticism to bully his way inside and theres not much you can do to stop him once he gets a head of steam. Joe is also a physical perimeter defender who causes a lot of problems for opposing offenses, coming up with steals and creating turnovers that turn into easy offense. As he continues to grow his game from beyond he will be a premiere prospect out of the 5A class in the coming months.     The 2030 forward, now at St. Francis, is an intriguing young prospect with considerable upside. He combines a powerful, well-built frame with impressive physicality, allowing him to impact the game around the basket and on the boards. Mufu finishes well around the rim, crashes the offensive glass with purpose, and creates extra possessions through his relentless motor. He also flashes floor-spacing ability, knocking down perimeter shots with a confident, fluid stroke. As his game continues to develop, he has the tools to emerge as one of the more noteworthy prospects in the 2030 class.     The lead guard is consistently getting downhill and attacking the basket with speed and purpose. He consistently puts pressure on interior defenses, slicing through gaps and finishing around the rim with a crafty array of moves in traffic. Beyond his scoring ability, Byrd impacts the game in several ways, ripping down rebounds and doing the little things that help his team win. He finished with 11 points and delivered key plays down the stretch when Hooch needed them most in a tight loss to a very good St. Francis Team.
