Pacific Elite Camp - More Standouts

Pacific Men's Basketball held its first elite camp in 2026 this past Monday where head coach Justin Lunt and his assistants helped lead and teach a group of collegiate prospects on campus at Stoller Gymnasium. The competition was intense as players from all over the West Coast and beyond were in the building hoping to make an impression on the Boxers coaching staff and earn a roster spot offer. We had the opportunity to watch much of the 4x4 and 5x5 action and based on our observations and discussions with the coaching staff afterward, here are some more of the players we observed from the participants from in-state.    One thing that struck us while watching Ivey at Elite Camp was the fact he's a winner. The rising junior played on the main court during the entirety of 5x5 play and served well as a guy who mainly helped out moving the ball and defending, but also knocking down the open jumper when given the opportunity. His all-around ball skills and feel for the game are at a high level as he continues to develop physically.     Cantwell really emerged this off-season with expanding his game from being mainly an outside sniper to more of an all-around scoring guard. That showed during Pacific Elite Camp but what also caught our eye was not only his willingness to share the ball, but the court vision and pinpoint passing he brought to the table as he often found teammates cutting to the basket for layups.     Winton played for GRIT during the spring and summer months, so the Boxer coaching staff was familiar with his game. In the action we saw him play, the rising senior guard was confident from deep with his lefty stroke, making the extra pass, and showing some good toughness on the defensive end.     While we had limited viewing of him since his teams were largely playing on other courts, there was no question he made an impression on us right away with his intensity. The rising senior guard is a classic "hustle guy", willing to give it 100 percent and put his body out there to rebound, defend, and fight for 50/50 balls.     We only saw Shamyer in a handful of posessions as he was mainly playing on the far court, but the rising senior was doing what we saw out of him in June. The undersized forward was battling on the boards, getting physical, and showing great motor on the defensive end.     We unfortunately only got to see a few glimpses of Navarro in action. But as one of the younger players in attendance, the rising sophomore showed he could fit in with players older and more physically mature than him with his poise, demeanor, and ball-handling. We look forward to seeing him more in upcoming events.
