On the Rise: 2028 Prospects Gaining Ground

Our <a href="https://prephoops.com/georgia/rankings/2028-rankings/">Updated 2028 Rankings</a> have expanded to include 136 players in the junior class. Camps, showcases and tournaments during June and July provided plenty of opportunties for our staff to evaluate prospects from around the state. Here is a closer look at five 2028 prospects that are moving up.    Young moved up 23 spots in our updated 2028 rankings and continues to establish himself as an intriguing prospect in the class. The junior has good positional size for a skilled guard and is comfortable playing with or without the ball in his hands. He sees the floor well, is a very good passer and shows an impressive ability to read defenders and operate effectively in ball screen situations. Young's combination of size, feel for the game and playmaking ability make him an intriguing prospect in the 2028 class.     Whitty is skilled scoring wing with good positional size and the ability to score at all three levels. The Pebblebrook product moved up 20 spots in the 2028 class. He has a good feel for the game, plays under control and is comfortable creating offense off the dribble. He is an above average athlete with a combination of size, skill and scoring ability. Whitty's overall feel and offensive versatility make him a prospect to watch moving forward.     Pemberton moved into the Top 30 of our updated rankings after showing continued improvement this summer. The junior is a perimeter shot maker with deep range who can space the floor and moves well without the ball. He knows how to use screens. His ball skills continue to improve, giving him versatility as an offensive threat. Pemberton is also an above average athlete with an impressive offensive skill set.     The St. Pius point guard moved up 18 spots in our August rankings update after continuing to show growth as a lead guard. He is a steady floor general and reliable decision maker who changes speeds effectively and plays with good control. He sees the floor well, is a capable passer who creates opportunities for teammates and can knock down open perimeter shots when given space.     Martin averaged more than 10 points per game for the [program_tooltip program_id='2433307' first='Atlanta' last='Celtics'] on the adidas circuit during July and continues to make strides as an offensive player. He is a high-level athlete with a good feel for the game who excels at getting downhill off the bounce and is difficult for defenders to keep out of the paint. Martin has improved as an overall scorer and also uses his athleticism and activity to impact the glass and contribute on the defensive end of the floor.
