Ohio Sophomore ID Camp: Team 4 Standouts

The Prep Hoops Ohio Sophomore ID Camp was loaded with talent from Ohio's 2029 class and in this article we'll take a look at the standouts from Team 4.    We had a Michigan based prospect stand out at both our freshman showcase and sophomore ID camp as Beltran-Casanova made the trip south and made the most of his opportunity. Beltran-Casanova had impressive dribble moves with an in and out move leaving a defender in the dust. An impressive shooter if you leave him alone, Beltran-Casanova used the threat of his jumper to pump fake and knock down floaters against the defense.     One of the top scorers from the camp, White was getting buckets from the perimeter. A confident shooter who looks like a breakout star in the FAC this winter, White made some deep 3-pointers both off the catch and off step-back dribble moves. An undersized guard, White showed the ability to space the floor and can play on or off the basketball next to another guard. With his scoring talent I'd expect White to put up solid numbers this winter for the Blue Lions as he could be close to the conference leader in 3-point makes.     A prospect who looked to cause chaos defensively, Davis was trapping and trying to speed up the game whenever he saw an opportunity. Davis flew around the court defensively and added to the intensity of the court he was on. I also was impressed with his physical tools as he made some nice plays in transition with the ball in his hands. CCPA has been a program on the rise in Cincinnati the past couple seasons and Davis is a name to watch in their program.     Not the flashiest player at the camp but Donley was effective because he was unselfish, knew how to play and made the right read. In a showcase event often times players will try to dribble as much as possible and create shots for themselves but Donley had his most success with extra passes, outlet passes and dump offs for easy looks for his teammates. While Donley wasn't a leading scorer on his team, he made life easier for everybody else throughout the evening.     Holderman was holding it down in the paint for his group as he rebounded the basketball well and helped protect the rim as well for his group. Holderman set screens, got extra possessions off offensive rebounds and made himself available for simple catch and finishes. Beavercreek had a disappointing season last year but with their two leading scorers returning, there's increased expectations to win this year. With those two senior studs getting so much attention, there will be opportunities for a player like Holderman to make a name for himself in a loaded GWOC.
