New Recruiting Tidbits from Around the State

The 6'1" combo guard enjoyed a tremendous summer playing for the [player_tooltip player_id='3650378' first='Michael' last='Porter'] Jr. Elite 17U squad. He was also one of the state's top performers during the Midwest Showcase, which was held in June in his home town of Columbia. Rooks averaged more than 30 points a game in the Midwest Showcase on terrific shooting efficiency. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The commitment of Rooks to Austin Peay continues the excellent job that head coach Corey Gipson and assistant coach Tim Ward have successfully recruited talented players from the state of Missouri. They did it at Northwestern State (LA) and have continued to do it at Austin Peay.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Class of 2027 guard Kameron Johns of Lee's Summit has given a commitment to Baker University.
