Freshman/Sophomore ID Camp Standouts, First Five

This past Sunday a number of talented underclassmen took the court at Seminole Sports Academy for the Freshman/Sophomore ID Camp, and a number of players took advantage of the opportunity and really made a name for themselves heading into this season. Let's take a closer look at some of the prospects who stood out with their outstanding play throughout the event.    Harriott was very impressive throughout the day, and there were times where he was scoring at will. He is an extremely quick guard with elite handles, and has a real knack for getting to the rim where he can finish through contact. The 5'11" CG is a true 3-level scorer who can knock down the three ball, but excels in the transition game where he can showcase his athleticism. Harriott has good bounce and is quick off the floor, where he rebounds the ball very well from the guard position.     An excellent 2-way player, Tranovich, was all over the court this past Sunday. He has a tremendous motor and never takes a play off. The 6'3" SF has the size to defend down low in the paint, but also has the athleticism to lockdown the smaller, quicker guards. He has excellent leaping ability, where he likes to play above the rim, but is also an excellent rebounder on both ends of the floor. He can score from anywhere on the court, and was one of the more all-around and complete prospects to lace them up for this event.     At 6'5" Hooten was one of the taller prospects this past Sunday, and proved he can effect the game in a number of ways, both offensively and defensively. He spaces the floor very well, and has nice a smooth stroke from the outside with a high release, making him very difficult to block. He is an excellent rebounder, with solid handles, who looked to push the ball and get up the floor. Hooten has great shot-blocking ability and closes out on the perimeter nicely with his hands always up high.     Billingsley is a tough, strong-bodied guard who plays the game with poise and under control. He has excellent handles and is always looking for the open man, but if you leave him open he'll knock down the 3-ball consistently. He was a true facilitator each time he stepped on the court, and was a very smart player who let the game come to him. The 5'8" PG was talkative on the defensive end and did a great job of keeping his opponent in front of him and his hands in the passing lanes.     Joy was another one of the bigger prospects at this years camp, and was very effective down low in the paint. He positions himself very well on the floor, and was very impressive with his post play and moves down low. He moves extremely well without the ball and was very efficient in transition throughout 5-5 play. Joy was a presence in the middle with his ability to alter and block shots.
