Ethan Coverston and Mid-TN Newcomers Join the 2029 Rankings

Teams list him at 6-foot-6. He might be just a touch under though he is likely still growing. For a sophomore Ethan is relatively strong and capable at rebounding inside his area. The style of play is a little like Alex Rush (Upperman '21 / Freed-Hardeman '25). Coverston will want to develop some pick'n'pop elements. Make every 10' shot from the baseline. Long-term Ethan will want to get lighter on his feet, more nimble. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Debuting: </strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3687594' first='Eddie' last='Lynch III'] (Blackman<br><strong>Why?</strong> Quick, hyper-skilled point guard. [player_tooltip player_id='3687594' first='Eddie' last='Lynch III'] narrowly missed earning PrepHoopsTN Combine All-Star early June. One coach voted him into the All-Star Game though he was the first man out. Lynch III can dribble, pass, and score. He will benefit from growing some, but that is an uncontrollable. Blackman Head Coach Barry Wortman teaches defense better than any high school coach in the state. Hopefully, Lynch III absorbs some of that.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Debuting:</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='3666647' first='Bray'lon' last='Leake'] (Smyrna)<br><strong>Why?</strong> Bray is an elegant wing with great size for the position. His performance in June at the PrepHoopsTN Combine helped introduce him. Leake reminds of a younger Kaden Matthews who also played at Smyrna. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Debuting:</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='3677897' first='Khylan' last='Craft'] (John Overton)<br><strong>Why?</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='3677897' first='Khylan' last='Craft'] is a special young guard. He ran with [program_tooltip program_id='2078772' first='Team' last='Thad'] 15u out of Memphis this summer and did not appear overwhelmed. Craft can play effectively fast and looks relatively comfortable as an outside shooter. At this juncture Craft shows no glaring weaknesses. His upside is higher than most guys in this story.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Debuting:</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='3667635' first='Hutch' last='Weber'] (Brentwood Academy)<br><strong>Why?</strong> Hutch is a big, strong dude. He will be one of the better rebounders in the basketball program as long as he plays. It seems like Weber might pursue college football over college basketball. Regardless, he is a solid rebounder now and the team will utilize him as a versatile post defender too.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
