Breaking Down Premier 2028 Point Guards in Post Summer Update

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>***Use Code “ScottyB30” for 30% off your subscription***</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Prep Hoops Illinois 2028 Rankings have been updated after a busy June and July watching a ton of players!  These are the best of the best prospects from the point guard position in that class as we sit heading into the fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2531962' first='Amir' last='Tucker'] (St. Ignatius)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tucker moves up to PG 1 with the departure of Smith-Holley to a prep school.&nbsp; The Iggy lead guard has the full reigns and it is his show for the Chicago Catholic League power after graduation of veteran stars and a dazzling close to the season.&nbsp; Continued his growth as an all-around player throughout the month of June mixing up his scoring and playmaking.&nbsp; The mentality he has to be the #1 guy is starting to show through.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2467517' first='Darrius' last='Hawkins'] (Homewood Flossmoor)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hawkins is a shifty left handed point guard who put up some fun outings with HF over the summer.&nbsp; On a team that has a lot of nice complimentary pieces he is the one that everything will revolve around.&nbsp; Can create his shot off the bounce with his quickness downhill along with getting separation on his shot in the mid-range and three.&nbsp; Passing flair is underrated part of his skill set.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2531970' first='Ben' last='Ojala'] (Evanston)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ojala is a high IQ combo guard that can really shoot it from beyond the arc at a high level.&nbsp; One of the most pure shooters in the 2028 class regardless of position that can hit them off the bounce, movement, or spotting up.&nbsp; His growth as a decision maker and athlete continue to elevate his stock as a D1 guard.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2842573' first='Blake' last='Choice'] (DePaul Prep)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Choice was very impressive when we saw him in a new role for the Rams.&nbsp; He went from role player to the guy on one of the premier programs in the state.&nbsp; Long and angular on ball guard who can make things go for himself and others.&nbsp; Showcased more of a versatile scoring game than we had previously seen this summer.&nbsp; The intangibles are definitely there along with his defense.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2834186' first='Nigel' last='Moore'] (Peoria)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Moore is a speedy lefty that pushes the pace with the rock in his hands.&nbsp; Plays with tremendous quickness and is slithery getting through defenses on a regular basis.&nbsp; Excels in the open floor where he can turn on the jets getting up and down the floor with ease.&nbsp; Quality shot maker that has active hands on the defensive end.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2385372' first='Noah' last='Corro'] (St. Laurence)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Corro continues to prove he is one of the premier combo guards in the 2028 class.&nbsp; His value comes in a well-rounded game where he can play both on and off the ball.&nbsp; Sound shooter moving without the ball or spotting up.&nbsp; Also knocks them down creating on his own.&nbsp; Crisp ball handler that gets to his spots for scores in the lane along with being a quality passer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
