2028 Rankings Update: Top Playmaking Guards to Watch

Our <a href="https://prephoops.com/georgia/rankings/2028-rankings/">Updated 2028 Rankings</a> have expanded to include 136 players in the junior class. Camps, showcases and tournaments during June and July provided plenty of opportunties for our staff to evaluate prospects from around the state. Take a closer look at some of the state's top ball handling guards heading into the fall.    One of the biggest stock risers of the summer, Maurice starred for OBG Elite at the adidas Gold Championship, leading his team to the title and earning MVP honors. The 6'1 guard is a strong, attacking scorer with an impressive command of the basketball and the ability to consistently create offense off the dribble. He is extremely difficult for defenders to keep out of the paint and uses his strength effectively to finish around the basket. Maurice is also a capable perimeter shot maker when given open looks, giving him the ability to score at multiple levels.     Browne makes the move to Eagle's Landing Christian for his junior season and brings a versatile offensive skill set to the backcourt. The left handed point guard is a capable scorer with a good feel for the game and is comfortable playing with or without the ball in his hands. He is a reliable perimeter shot maker and an above average athlete who can impact the game as both a scorer and facilitator. Browne is also a high academic prospect in the 2028 class.     Now at Hillgrove for his junior season, Chaudhry is a smooth, left handed combo guard with good positional size and a high basketball IQ. He changes speeds effectively, plays with good control and sees the floor well, consistently finding open teammates and creating opportunities for others. Chaudhry is also a reliable perimeter shot maker, giving him the ability to impact the game as both a scorer and facilitator.     Another Hillgrove guard, Jatta impressed with the Georgia Stars during July, averaging more than 10 points per game during the month. He is an aggressive scoring combo guard with above average athleticism who can create his own offense off the dribble. Jatta is difficult for defenders to keep out of the paint and finishes effectively around the basket. His perimeter shot remains an area for continued development, but his ability to create and attack makes him an intriguing offensive prospect.     Harpring moved into the Top 25 of our updated 2028 rankings following an impressive summer playing up with Hoop Atlanta's 17U team. The junior is a smart, tough and skilled point guard who can impact the game as both a scorer and facilitator. He combines good strength with above average foot speed and plays with excellent basketball instincts, consistently making good reads and decisions with the ball in his hands.
