2027 Rankings Update: Top Newcomers from 100-150

With the recent update to the Pennsylvania 2027 prospect rankings, a handful of newcomers saw their names included for the first time. Whether due to reclassifications, transferring from out of the area, or simply just now catching the eye of our staff, these were the prospects within the 100-150 range to be added to the rankings for the first time since our last update.    A familiar name to those who've followed District 1 basketball this decade, Hicke is the younger brother of current Princeton star Jackson, the leader of Radnor's storybook 2023 state championship team. While the younger Hicke isn't on quite the same trajectory as his brother, he's emerged as an intriguing wing forward with similar type of versatility to his attack. Somewhat of a physical late-bloomer, he's blossomed to have premier positional size with evolving athletic fluidity. The production still can be a bit up and down, and he hasn't had many opportunities to prove himself against higher-level competition, but the pathway is there for Hicke to bubble up toward scholarship-level recruitment over the coming months.     Part of a quick buildup for second year coach John Cox at GA, Reckner has emerged seemingly out of nowhere to become a key factor for the Patriots in the Inter-Ac and PAISAA landscapes. A physical late-bloomer who's grown several inches in the past couple years, he adds to a core of versatile forwards that will lead the Patriot attack. Reckner's best asset is arguably his floor-spacing ability as a perimeter shooter but he's not afraid to use his size around the basket and shows flashes as a playmaker off the bounce. He's the type of late-bloomer who could wind up looking like a steal for a number of high-academic D3 programs and could be a priority type of target for prep schools looking to give him extra runway in his development.     Olkowski continues a recent pipeline of Marston Elite products to take post-grad years at Phelps, coming in with a similarly wide-ranging recruitment as his recent predecessors. A product of St. Mary's Rutherford (NJ), he's an inside-out forward on a nice trajectory in his development. He stays active to rack up efficient production off cuts or running the floor, and is a respectable threat from beyond the arc with his feet set. He's not the swiftest laterally but can really get off the ground in space with a mindset to dunk everything he gets his hands on near the rim. Defensively he's a bit wedged in between forward positions depending on the level but manages to get his hands in the way of a lot of opposing actions on a consistent basis. He profiles as a small-college's dream with a chance to rise over the course of the winter as he builds more of a profile on this side of the bridge.     Correia was one of the more under the radar needle-movers to come out of Philly Live in June, coming from out of nowhere and putting himself on the map with a series of prolific scoring performances. A 20ppg scorer last year at Coventry Christian (District 3, Class A), he's accustomed to putting the ball in the net but showed the ability to do it against a vastly superior level of competition than he'd gotten to face in the past. He does a bulk of his damage from long range as a dynamic shooting threat both off the dribble or catch. Once he establishes himself he does a nice job of using his shooting gravity to mix it up off the dribble to make opportunistic plays for himself and his teammates. He's not the most traditional scholarship-level profile at his size given that he's not a true lead guard, but if he shows he can produce and hold up defensively over the course of a PCL season, it wouldn't be a shock to see him creep toward that level.     A sleeper out of Schuylkill County, Werner caught the eye this July as part of a sneakily talented PA Flight group that competed on the ZGXL and HGAL platforms. He impressed with his blend of size and positional versatility on the perimeter, toggling nicely between wing and guard responsibilities. His ability to initiate offense as a ballhandler at his size really helps him stand out, while he's also an effective slasher from the wing in both the halfcourt and transition. He hasn't gotten to prove himself too much against scholarship-level athletes but he has the type of raw outlines to generate interest from PSAC and CACC type programs, or could prove out to be a steal down the line if he slips to the college ranks.     Gordon played his way into the rankings this summer while consistently showing that his size isn't a hinderance toward impacting games consistently. A true two-way lead guard, he does the quintessential small guard tasks of routinely collapsing the defense with paint touches off the dribble and constantly bothering the opposition as a pestering point of attack defender. He plays with his eyes up and shows the ability to make some slick passes within tight windows to set up easy buckets. At his size, we'd like to see him develop into more of a dynamic threat from the perimeter to open up the floor more at the scholarship level but he should have small-college programs making routine trips to Academy Park throughout the winter.
