Gordon played his way into the rankings this summer while consistently showing that his size isn’t a hinderance toward impacting games consistently. A true two-way lead guard, he does the quintessential small guard tasks of routinely collapsing the defense with paint touches off the dribble and constantly bothering the opposition as a pestering point of attack defender. He plays with his eyes up and shows the ability to make some slick passes within tight windows to set up easy buckets. At his size, we’d like to see him develop into more of a dynamic threat from the perimeter to open up the floor more at the scholarship level but he should have small-college programs making routine trips to Academy Park throughout the winter.

Gordon is a pesky guard who has no issues inserting himself in the flow of the game. His close proximity to the ground allows him to gather steals. He is effective touching the paint. Gordon can slow the game down and doesn’t always look to push the pace. He knows his role is to be the initiator for his team and by doing that he is responsible for getting his teammates the ball which allows them to score.

After a solid season as a reserve for a Bonner squad that advanced to the 5A state quarterfinals, this point guard with speed and elusive handles is ready to post his breakout stretch of play. Gordon can push the rock in the open court for scores or assists. With his high IQ, poise and court awareness, Gordon’s decision making on the fast break is remarkable. In the half-court, Gordon can get into the painted area going left or right. Once he is the paint, Gordan’s ability to hit tough shots among the trees really stands out. He can also get into the lane and the execute kick outs or drop a dime to a cutter.
