2027 Guards on the Rise: HCU Elite Camp Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Houston Christian University Elite camp was an opportunity for several high school prospects to make their mark in front of a collegiate coaching staff and impress all the attendees. Several prospects even flew in from out of state, but I will focus on some local Texas hoopers who caught my attention. These athletes mentioned all had high IQ, good playmaking, smooth shooting, and aggressive defense. Let's further dive into the skillsets of these 2027 guards! He grabbed several rebounds and got some putback buckets on offense, as well as making stops both in the paint and perimeter on defense. His effort and hustle going for loose balls and second chance points stood out tremendously, and he capitalized on several open jumpers from all three levels. He is effective handling the ball in a half court setting and also is valuable for helping to beat opposing teams full court pressure. He pressures opponents full court and never lets them get comfortable handling the ball against him. His aggressiveness allows him to play passing lanes and convert several fastbreaks for his team. He has a go-to pull up midrange jumper that he can knock down with ease, and he gets to the basket constantly undeterred by contact. His frame allows him to get defensive stops at every position, and he provides extra help from the guard slot crashing the glass. Micah can beat opponents scoring the basketball from anywhere on the court and he excels at playing either combo guard slot. He will look to make a major impact this year transferring to North Shore and giving the Mustangs more depth at the guard slot.</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
