University of Oregon Team Camp - Fresh Faces

The University of Oregon held its team camp the final weekend of June, and as always teams from all over the state from all classifications arrived in Eugene ready to compete. We love attending the event every year as it gives us a chance to see some of the teams from Central and Southern Oregon that we don't normally see as often as those from the Portland metro area. As a result we also find a number of prospects that stand out to us for the very first time. Here's a look at some of the top newcomers that we watched.    One of the biggest eye catchers for us during UO Team Camp was Clevenger. The rising junior guard is long and athletic and plays with a motor on both ends of the floor. He simply made things happen, whether it was knocking down open shots with range, finishing around the hoop, hitting the boards, or getting down and dirty on offense. He's going to be a big part of what South Medford does in 2026-27.     A transfer from South Medford, Withers is an extremely intriguing prospect due to his 6-foot-9 size, length, and overall athleticism. The rising senior runs the floor well, can finish around the hoops, and really make a difference defensively with his ability to block shots. Offensively he's still raw and there's still some aspects of the game he's catching up on, but the upside is definitely there.     Willamette is definitely and up-and-coming team to watch out for and Baravilala is one of the players worth keeping an eye on. The rising junior can really shoot the ball and at UO Team Camp he was able to get hot from three on a number of occasions. He's dangerous off the catch-and-shoot with his smooth stroke but can also put it on the floor a little, and isn't afraid of going inside against bigger players.     With his size and strength, Bowie proved to be a matchup challenge for defenders. The rising junior went bully-ball at times to get buckets inside but also showed he could do damage from the perimeter by hitting some outside shots. He was very effective on the glass on both ends, and finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds in a win over Creswell.     Based on what we saw at UO Team Camp, Calhoun is going to be one of the top inside threats for Portland Christian this upcoming season. The rising senior has solid post moves and a soft touch on the inside, and also has the ability to step out and knock down open mid-range jumpers. He works hard on the glass and holds his ground on the defensive end. He averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds in the two Royals games we watched.
