With the summer coming to an end, we decided to take a look at some of the top underrated players that college coaches should be watching for heading into the season. Here's a look at eight wings in the Northern VA area that aren't getting the love that they deserve from coaches.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815378' first='Trey' last='Lonardo'] | 6'4” SF | George Marshall

Lonardo was a an All Region selection for Marshall last year who was one of the top teams in NOVA, and his versatility and production is a big reason for that. At 6'4” Lonardo is capable of playing and guarding multiple positions and stuffing the stat sheet in doing so. He can use his size to shoot over defenders and post smaller defenders, he can work off the ball on the perimeter and knock down open shots, and he's a very good passer and playmaker for his size.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815353' first='Aidan' last='O'Connor'] | 6'4” SG | Loudoun Valley

O'Connor is one of the more underrated players in NOVA public schools as he's been a super consistent scoring threats over the past two seasons. At 6'4” he has good positional size with a quick release and the ability to set his feet and make shots on the move from deep. He's a shifty ball handler and crafty finisher around the rim, he can get to spots and make tough shots in the midrange, and he has a high IQ and makes good decisions too.

[player_tooltip player_id='3569955' first='Jeremiah' last='Parrish'] | 6'3” SG | Patriot

Parrish was an All Region selection for Patriot last year, emerging as one of their top two way impact players and showcasing a variety of skills that would translate to the next level. At 6'3” with a strong frame he's physically and athletically ready to play in college now, he plays with a good motor on both ends of the floor and is a good rebounder, he can work off the ball and knock down shots from multiple levels, and he's very good getting downhill and finishing through contact too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2347783' first='Carson' last='Cook'] | 6'2” SF | Evergreen Christian

Cook was a big reason for Evergreen Christian's run to the state championship this past year, and he's got a lot of traits that will translate well to the next level. He's got a great frame and is very strong when he battles in the paint to rebound or bumps to create space, he is a knock down shooter from deep off the catch, he brings good toughness on both ends of the floor, and he makes winning plays on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id='2896177' first='Jackson' last='Fraser'] | 6'1” SG | Marshall

Fraser is one of the more underrated prospects in NOVA as he had a breakout year for George Marshall and he's able to impact the game in so many different ways. He can play on the ball and is aggressive getting in the paint where he can make plays for himself and others. He can knock down shots from deep off the catch, he plays with a lot of toughness on the defensive end of the floor, and his versatility in the backcourt makes him very valuable to any team he's on.

[player_tooltip player_id='3651536' first='Christian' last='Brown'] | 6'2” SG | Gainesville

While Brown may be a tad undersized when it comes to the next level, he plays much bigger than he is as he's an athletic two way impact player who can produce in a number of different ways. He thrives in transition with his ability to run the floor and use his athleticism to finish above the rim, he slashes and finishes well through traffic, he can knock down open shots off the catch, and he is a very good rebounder and defender for his position as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2884163' first='Stephen' last='Mayernik'] | 6'4” SF | Woodson

Mayernik was one of the breakout players for a new look Woodson team that was very successful last year, and if he improves the way he did last year he's going to be a steal for a college somewhere. At 6'4” he has prototypical size with long arms and is a sneaky athlete, he can drill it from deep with a quick release and sets his feet quickly on the move, he gets to spots in the midrange and can score it over defenders, and he is a high IQ playmaker who makes the right decisions as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='3651540' first='Mason' last='Pye'] | 6'6” SF | Meridian

Pye is coming off a big spring with the NOVA Cavs where he continued to improve throughout the season, and he is a very intriguing prospect as he continues to develop and polish his game moving forward. At 6'6” he has great positional size and is able to play and guard multiple positions, he's a good athlete who can run in transition and rebounds well, he has the ability to score the ball from multiple levels off the catch, and he has a high IQ and good instincts on both ends of the floor.

With the summer coming to an end, we decided to take a look at some of the top underrated players that college coaches should be watching for heading into the season. Here's a look at eight wings in the Northern VA area that aren't getting the love that they deserve from coaches.
