Sunday's 16U Backcourt Standouts at The Platform

After highlighting Saturday's top shooters, Sunday's action brought another full slate of games on the Prep Hoops Circuit. The 16U division featured plenty of competitive matchups, with a number of prospects stepping up and putting their names on the map. Here's a look at the 16U standouts who made a big impression throughout the day.    A smaller lefty guard, stood out as a leader and playmaker in his team's lone game Sunday, a win over [program_tooltip program_id='2075386' first='Chicago' last='Lockdown'] 16U. He showed poise running the point, getting by defenders, keeping them on his hip, and creating scoring or passing opportunities in the lane. Lampi mixed in a couple of well-timed floaters, including one after splitting two defenders, while also making an impact from beyond the arc. His shot has good touch and arc, making 3 on quality looks.     Despite a tough loss to [program_tooltip program_id='2075527' first='Ignite' last='Hoops'] 16U on Sunday, Van Dellen put together an impressive performance. His lengthy frame and consistent effort stood out on the glass, while his smooth shooting stroke from deep featured the type of arc you like to see. He also showed he's more than just a shooter, attacking downhill with good angles, playing through contact, and using effective head fakes to create advantages. Off the ball, Van Dellen stayed active with timely cuts and a high-motor approach, making a difference in multiple areas throughout the game.     Clark was a force for MGC Elite 16U in its matchup against Woodstock Elite. With Woodstock featuring plenty of size, Clark embraced the challenge and consistently outworked the opposing frontcourt on both ends. He attacked the glass with physicality, pursued offensive rebounds with effort, and came away with a few well-timed steals while defending in the post. Clark also provided a major energy boost offensively, attacking the rim with purpose, playing through contact, and finishing strong around the basket. Huge energy giver.     In a physical, intense matchup against Pure Hoops 16U, Harris kept pace and helped keep Sharks Academy in the game with his playmaking. He showed confidence shooting from beyond the arc, with range extended behind the three-point line. He put pressure on the defense with his handle and ability to get downhill, while also showing good timing as a passer by delivering last-second drop-offs and dishes that created open looks for teammates. He showed a foundation of all-around offensive skills.     Del Giudice impacted the game in a variety of ways against Sharks Academy and proved to be a difference-maker. He consistently made good decisions and showed a higher IQ, highlighted by a perfectly timed slip off an inbounds screen that created an open look, even though the pass never came. He created well-timed backdoor cuts for scoring or spacing out, and continued making winning plays on both ends. Defensively made an impact. Cut effectively without the ball, finished efficiently around the rim, and attacked as a slasher. One of his best plays came on a slick left-handed drive that he finished with a reverse and-one, using spin off the glass.
