PH National Open Championship | Logan’s Friday Night Standouts

The Prep Hoops National Open Championship tipped off at the Pacers Athletic Center in Westfield, Indiana. Teams have traveled from all across the country to face quality competition to try and win a championship. Here are Logan's Friday Night Standouts from the Prep Hoops National Open Championship:    The 2020 Guard playing up in his first event with [program_tooltip program_id='2847679' first='Refined' last='Indiana'] Blue 16u put on a show. Crafty left handed guard that plays with no fear was able to knock down multiple 3's as well as get in the lane and finish with some crafty moves. Hard nosed guard that didn't back down from the challenge playing a year up. Played with poise, confidence, and showed the dog in him helping lead his team to a come from behind win in night one of the Prep Hoops National Open Championship.     My first time seeing the 6'3” Wing out of Park Tudor and [program_tooltip program_id='2847679' first='Refined' last='Indiana'] - NXT Pro 16u and he was really impressive with his activity on both ends of the floor. Went on a stretch early in the game where he was showing his versatility on the offensive end. Straight line drive followed by an offensive putback and-one, and then knocked down a catch and shoot 3. Smooth athlete that can make plays at the rim. Showed he can guard multiple positions and rebound at a high level.     The physical 6'4” guard for Rise Up Elite 16u out of Canada played the hardest out of any player I watched on Friday Night at the Prep Hoops National Open Championship. Sidiki Kromah made his presence felt all night long in his team's win showing off his full game. Hard nosed defender that uses his length and athleticism to his advantage. Active hands on the defensive end resulted in multiple deflections. Relentless driving the basketball, but always seemed under control. Played off of two feet well and exploded to the rim multiple times for dunks. Jump shot is a work in progress, but he was an absolute stud that was a load to handle every time he got the ball.     My first time seeing the smooth guard out of Fort Wayne Wayne playing for [program_tooltip program_id='2228160' first='OPS' last='']. Had moments where he struggled with turnovers, but in the second half he got comfortable and started making plays. Playing through a wrist injury, he was able to get to his spots in smooth fashion. Tight handle with a sneaky quick first step. He's crafty when he gets in the lane and showed his ability to play off the bounce and find open teammates. Did a good job playing through contact and finishing at the rim in the second half. Knocked down back to back 3's off the dribble to really get him going offensively. High IQ point guard that plays at his own pace and is tough to speed up.     King Whatley did a lot of the dirty work for his Hard Hoops 16u team. Vocal leader and defensive anchor. He was able to control the boards on both ends of the floor while also being a big time rim protector. Mobile big man that was able to show his switchability and contain guards on the perimeter. Offensively he showed flashes of a smooth face up game in the mid-post. Soft touch on a couple jumpers as well as being capable of putting the ball on the floor and finishing strong.
