Early July Recruiting Update — The Latest News and Notes

I'll get you caught up on some of the latest offers and commitments, break down what they mean, and explain how everything could impact things moving forward.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2348237' first='Wyatt' last='Slay'] | 6'4" Guard | Principia</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Slay, the talented guard from Principia who can really shoot the ball from the perimeter, has committed to Eastern Illinois. Wyatt has pledged to the Panthers, but he could still generate plenty of interest from other Division I programs throughout the summer and into the fall. He's strong, well put together physically, and brings a smart, tough style of play. He's also capable of heating up quickly as a scorer, making him a dangerous offensive threat to monitor.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2346715' first='Brock' last='Long'] | 6'3" Guard | Vianney</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Long picked up multiple Division II offers this spring and has decided to make his commitment to Maryville. Brock's size and ability to play both on and off the ball make him a valuable prospect, and while he's now committed, I still believe other programs will try to get involved as July progresses and possibly into the early part of the winter. His shooting and playmaking have stood out throughout the process and continue to be two of his biggest strengths on the floor.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>Logan Klingenberg | 6'3" Wing | Rock Creek</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Klingenberg picks up his first offer from Manhattan Christian. The long and lanky wing looks like a rising prospect with a lot to prove this summer. Logan shows a dynamic offensive game, able to play both in the half court and in transition. He gets to the rim well while also stretching the floor, giving him the ability to impact the game as a scorer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2979874' first='Braylen' last='Siebenmorgen'] | 6'6" Forward | Hiawatha</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another offer is on the table for the Kansas forward. His latest comes from Manhattan Christian after picking up one from Simpson just a few weeks ago. Siebenmorgen is a strong forward who brings versatility to the frontcourt to go with his power and aggression around the rim. He's now picked up multiple offers this spring and summer and looks to keep adding to that list.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2334909' first='Will' last='Powers'] | 6'5" Guard | Westminster Christian</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Powers has added three more offers over the last couple of weeks from Belmont, Illinois State, and Colorado State. The talented two-way guard continues to show a growing offensive game and the athleticism to match. Pair that with a frame that continues to fill out, and he's looking more and more like someone who can make an immediate impact when he gets to the next level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2344218' first='Nolan' last='Struckmann'] | 6'8" Forward | St. Dominic</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There may not be a hotter name on the recruiting trail right now. Struckmann continues to hear from more programs as the offers keep rolling in. His latest come from Pitt State, Missouri S&amp;T, and Maryville. The athletic forward, who could project more as a wing at the next level, is clearly drawing strong interest from several Division II programs and could even start hearing from Division I schools soon.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2569202' first='Elijah' last='Poniewaz'] | 6'0" Guard | Chaminade</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Poniewaz has been a staple on the recruiting trail all spring, and it looks like that's continuing into the summer months. You can now add an offer from Southeast Missouri to his growing list. He's been elite with the ball in his hands and continues to grab plenty of attention with the way he controls the game as both a scorer and facilitator.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='2930690' first='Kalem' last='Schmelzle'] | 6'4" Wing | Nemaha Central</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The third prospect to receive an offer from Manhattan Christian, Schmelzle is somewhat of a positionless player with everything he brings on both ends of the floor. He projects as a wing at the next level but also has the versatility to make an impact as a mobile forward. He's a name to continue monitoring this summer as he keeps showing what he can do offensively, both on and off the ball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
